Actress Gabrielle Union has landed a new gig. The movie star turned wanna-be television star has been added to the cast of the NBC series “Life”. Gabby is scheduled for a multi-episode arc- much like what she did on last season’s “Ugly Betty”. On “Life” Gabrielle will once again be playing a police officer- a role she is quite familiar with. Few people know the actress also played an officer of the law on the short lived “Night Stalker” series that ran on the USA cable network from 2005-2006. You can check out Gabby in her new role as Detective Jane Seever on Wednesday nights at 9pm EST.

This must be the trend, because alot of Black movie stars are turning to television. Laurence Fishburne is on CSI, Angela Bassett is on ER, and now Gabby. I’m not mad at them, in this day in age, get what you can. But this really does speak to the fact that there are not enough roles out there for Black actresses and actors. It seems like only a select few are able to get roles. That is why I have to give Tyler Perry much respect.
At least she is working, sound to me like roles are given out to a selected type of people , so if television is your issue out go for it, I love Gabby
