Gabrielle Union is about to try her hand at being a fashion designer. The 37 year old actress is reportedly putting the finishing touches on her own line of plus size clothing. Gabrielle told BV On Style that her new collection would be called Love & Blessings by Gabrielle and that she planned to launch the line via either HSN or QVC. Gabrielle herself says she is a size 6 but came up with the idea because her sister is a plus size woman who has trouble finding clothes to fit and flatter her figure. Gabrielle says she hopes to bring sexy back to fashions for larger size ladies. Gabrielle’s line is set to make its debut in the summer of 2011. For those of you who can’t wait that long to get your sexy on, you might want to try either Torrid, ASOS Curve or Faith 21.

Love Gabby she’s a beauty and you never hear anything bad about her.Would you look at that small shape just proves that you don’t have 2 have a GIANT BOOTY or be high yellow 2 get a good man, after all look at who her man is….
Gabby is indeed a BEAUTIFUL sista with a lovely figure. She`s definitely pleasant on the eye for sure. I hope her line does well and that the sun continues to shine upon her.
Michael Jackson & The “GOLDEN” 80s 4ever!!! R.I.P. “MASTER SHOWMAN”
Peace, in the spirit of my “HERO” Brotha Malcolm X!!! R.I.P. Brotha Malcolm.
“You haven`t got a revolution that doesn`t involve bloodshed and you`re afraid to bleed, I said you`re afraid to bleed”. “As long as the white man sent you to korea you bled, he sent you to Germany you bled, he sent you to the South Pacific to fight the Japanese, you bled”. “You bleed for white people, but when it comes to seeing your own churches being bombed and little Black girls murdered you haven`t go no blood”.
“How are you going to be as violent abroad as you are non-violent in Mississippi and Alabama when your churches are being bombed and your little girls are being murdered and at the same time you`re going be violent with Hitler and Tojo and somebody else that you don`t even know”?
Malcolm X
The words of Brotha Malcolm still ring true. Iraq and Afghanistan anyone? I suddenly here the sound of crickets.
Weird that her sister can’t find plus size clothing. I see them everywhere I go and online as well. Lame reason.
ANOTHER GARBAGE CLOTHING LINE, CAN’T BLACK PEOPLE DO ANYTHING ENTREPRENEUR WISE BESIDES CLOTHING OR MUSIC.
Why is a clothing line being referenced as “GARBAGE”? I never hear anyone refer to Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, and other apparel lines by whites or Europeans as inferior. It does not matter what entrepreneurial venture that we embark upon, we should want it to be successful. For the record, WE do stake our claim in other professions and demonstrate that we can be successful (if you’re not aware of our current accomplishments, subscribe to Black Enterprise to get a monthly dose of our innovative and entrepreneurial spirit).
She has discovered a “niche” in the apparel market and if the designs are creative, her vision can be a success. The plus size market is definitely underserved and since she has a sister that’s in the size range she will be servicing, she should serve as a viable asset to her clothing line.
It’s great to see our sistas empowering themselves and launching businesses that we hope will give OPPORTUNITIES to other sistas!! Good luck Gabrielle!!
Many large black women wear clothes that are too small. this is a good option. g.union clothes

To Sepiastar- I know I haven’t seen the clothes yet, but I am sure they won’t even come close to Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Versace and so on.
Good luck to her I guess.
I wanna see what the clothes look like.
@ SEPIASTAR – well stated.
