Garcelle Beauvais Poses For Playboy
It seems Garcelle Beauvais is following in the footsteps of another Black actress, Stacey Dash, and is taking it all off for the pages Playboy Magazine. According to Playboy’s Cyber Club, Garcelle has posed for the August issue of the men’s magazine which hits news stands at the beginning of July. Garcelle is probably best known for her role as Fancy on the Jamie Foxx Show. The sista however started her career off as a model and I believe she has been on the cover of Essence magazine more times than any other model. Garcelle ruled the pages of many Black fashion magazines before she set her sights on Hollywood in the late eighties.
On the cusp of turning 41 however, Garcelle apparently now feels it is time to do what many actresses and wanna-be actresses do in their twenties. I can’t help but feel Garcelle is doing this to boost her career which hasn’t exactly set the world on fire. Still, she has worked consistently which you would think would be good enough for her. Playboy as a tool to kick start one’s career rarely works for White women and has never worked for Black women. Just ask the Tennision Twins and the lone Black girl from Baywatch. What’s her name again?
Likewise, using Playboy to revive a career has never worked for Black women either. Robin Givens posed for Playboy to little fanfare and even though the net was all a buzz when Stacey Dash posed, a week later she was forgotten. So shall it be with Garcelle.
I honestly hate to see Black women take this route and for many reasons. One, they will never get the cover and two, Playboy takes the ugliest pics of Black women I have ever seen. Stacey Dash’s photos were horrible and poor Robin Givens looked like she was a starving woman from a third world country. Playboy just doesn’t know how to shoot women of color, particularly brown skin women.
Garcelle would have had a better chance of boosting her career had she posed for Smooth Magazine which take fabulous pics of Black women.

I highly doubt that they are going to put her on the cover, so it’s not worth my money. I saw the Stacy Dash photos and she did look hit up, she is a beautiful women and whoever was in charge of the photo spread could of did way better than that. They serve Stacy no justice. As for Garcelle she should pose for Smooth not just because it’s a black magazine but they know how to shoot black women and they also know how to have them to pose. When PlayBoy put a fine 36-24-40 sista on the cover and have her to look so good that you can’t find the magazine in stores because every where you go it’s sold out. Then that will be the first playboy I’ll ever buy.

You can still have class and grace and still take beautiful nude pictures. It’s about celebrating your body. Playboy is so obsessed with airbrushing and making women look perfect that they often end up making them look deformed or odd. Just like Stacy, Garcelle’s butt looks funny and so do her breasts. All in all she is obviously very pretty and I love her color. The pics are blah though.
