Tutorial: How to Get Smoky Eyes

The smoky eye is an ever-trending makeup statement that commands attention and power. Why not play up such a virtue?

STEP 1: Begin with a shimmering eye shadow base. Apply the eye shadow base to the lower lid, start at the lash line and move up through the crease. Continue by blending a minimal amount up to the brow bone.

STEP 2: Use an all over eye shadow brush in a gentle packing motion along the eyelids.

STEP 3: Apply creamy black eyeliner from the outer lash line to the crease. Use an eye shadow crease brush; to softly blend the deep toned shadow pencil throughout the outer crease of your eye.

STEP 4: Use the same eyeliner pencil to define the upper and lower lash line.

STEP 5: A pair of false eyelashes will help create dramatic, intensity to your eyes. Apply a full lash band of false eyelashes to the upper eyelids.

How to apply false eyelashes? Remove lashes from the container. Apply a pearl-sized, droplet of glue to a flat surface. Dip the tweezers into the glue, apply or drag a thin line of adhesive onto the lash band. Allow the glue to settle for 8-10 seconds. Apply false lashes slightly above the natural lash line.

BONUS: For extra full lashes, coat both sides of the upper and lower lashes with 4 coats of black mascara to complete the look.

To remove, gently peel lash strip from outer to inner corner of lid. Care for your lashes by peeling off adhesive residue when you remove lashes and cleaning them regularly.

I love a smoky-eye. I just haven’t mastered lashes yet. Luckily my natural lashes are long enough (with a good mascara).

  2. OMGee I love a smokey eye too KANYADE. I find it looks best when you keep your lips neutral. You don’t want a dark smokey-eye competing with a loud red mouth 😆
