Janelle Monáe Expands Her Empire

Singer Janelle Monáe has inked a deal with Epic Records to expand her imprint label Wondaland. Monáe will reportedly release a string of singles via artists on her roster, culminating with a collection of new material to be released later this year titled the Eephus.

The first single to be released from the newly restructured label will be ‘Classic Man,’ a soulful mid-tempo jam by new artist Jidenna. Other artists signed to Monáe’s label include Roman Gianarthur, Deep Cotton and St. Beauty, who Janelle says are all a part of a connective tissue, noting each artist was chosen to complement the other and add to their unique sound as a unit.
