  1. Cool song. i feel her, i got dreams to make it big in this industry too. she seems like somebody that would have been on american idol

  2. I”m not feeling this one.

  3. This song is not bad at all… I like it. MRSJONES, if this young lady had performed on American Idol, Simon Cowell wouldn’t have liked her. Simon Cowell wouldn’t know good singing even if it came up from behind him and bit him on his booty. Simon Cowell = !!

  4. Smooth Thug: I agree, Simon is just so uptight that I would be afraid if he did like something because he is critical of everything. But I am really liking this song and I love myself some Jazmine because she is true to herself. I wish her the best.

  5. shes doin her thing this song reminds me of myself i sing but im still sitting at home doing nothing i need to dream big shes killin it every :brownsista: :brownsista: :brownsista: :brownsista: time

  6. Love it! My new song for ‘09. I am in love with the creative videography of the video. She is really talented!

  7. @ Smooth Thug: I still can not believe that Jennifer was kicked off of Idol. How did that happen I don’t know.

  8. I love it. Just fresh and innovative.

With the exception of a few…all these artists are trying to sound and look like B and coming up short. Thankfully Jazmine has her own sound and her own look.

As far as Simon Cowell…that show is all about who can belt out the highest note. And since it’s American Idol it’s all about connecting with that “Wonder Bread” part of Middle America. What’s missing from music is dimension and that’s why most of today’s sound is so flat.

  9. Music ain’t always about belting out high notes.

  10. I love me some JS but Im not feeling this song….and is it just me or does she always look great in her vids but a mess during performances or anywhere else for that matter??

  11. I still love Jaz, but this is a bit disneyfied new age for me. This song sounds like the theme song for a talk show or sit com or something. Can someone say Raven.

Note to Jazmine :noway: TRY AGAIN!

You’ve done good girl, this is a critical time for you, you can’t afford to put out cheezyness or wackness. You’ve got to keep the hits coming. This isn’t it.

  12. @ Kitty Kat

I agree with you on the high notes. Totally. Some of my favorite Mariah Carey songs were the ones she sang in a lower key, high notes are over kill sometimes, but this song is not hot. Of course some people are gonna like it, but not enough for it to be a hit. Some songs should just be fillers, if it were up to me this wouldn’t have made the cut, but it’s good for some people. Either way, it’s not a good single.

  13. I love the love that she gets on this site! I’m hoping her star will continue to rise. We need diversity in the industry and she’s serving it up well. Hopefully, the public will take to her.

  14. I like Jazmine and her music, but once again, she’s given us a boring video. All of her video’s consist of close-ups of her face as she sings. They don’t really have scenes that showcase her acting and she doesn’t dance (which is understandable). I just need a little more in the videos. Otherwise, I would tell her to save some money and just let her music and performances make a statement for her. No need to spend money of a video that shows you singing. I can look on youtube for that.

  15. yeah simon is critical, but most of the time he’s telling the truth. anyone who has an ear for music, should know what song suits them the best. those people make the mistake of choosing the wrong song for their voice and that’s why they get booted off

  16. I love Jazmine but am not feeling this song at all.

  17. Leona Lewis anyone…a pretty girl with a nice voice; but boring as all get out…Simon doesn’t always know how to pick em.

  18. Like song…video…not so much :noway:

  19. Suprisingly because i love Jazmine I don’ t really like the Video, I love jaz and her voice , This song is very beautiful and it has something Music now a day lack: a message
I love you jazmine Do it Mama

  20. i’m not a fan, but jazzy this song is hot for me…

maybe coz it speaks to me, but the video, girl come on, you are becoming the queen of the green screen now!!!!

  21. I love Jazmine Sullivan but, I don’t like this song… AT ALL.

  22. i think there is something wrong with me,i dnt connect with jazz as i wud love to,i’m realy trying, she doesnt move me like alicia, india, estelle, jill scott or chrisette michelle does, its like she is trying to hard to be deep like lauren hill or to replace her or something,i just dnt know but i wont give up on her….as for leona lewis i used to like her bcoz she was new and fresh but not anymore too many runs and voice gymnastics you dnt even hear the message in the music, trying to hard to be the next MC

  23. I agree with lizz! I have tried but I just can’t get into Jazzmine. She does too many vocal mellismas which kill the song and when she sings in mid-register it sounds over-forced like she’s on the verge of going off-key. I lovev soul music and alternative artists but I can’t get into Jazmine at all. I really dont see whats so great about her vocally, although she is a talented songwriter

BTW she looks a lot like Jennifer Holiday (after the weight loss).

And dont get me started on Simon Cowell: he has no musical ear or knowledge! He picked on Seyisha Mercado and Alexandra Burke for sounding too “divaish” but kissed leona’s arse and claimed she was the next MC. Puhlease Seyshia and Alex are far better sings and noone can touch MC vocally or in terms of songwriting. He also signed a deal with this classical group called Escala but didn’t do his research because Escala are a copy of a successful group called BOND. He knows nothing about music but just wants to make money, people like him and Clive Davis are the reason wh the industry is soo bad right now. Its full of old men who have no musical knowledge or eye for true talent.

  24. I like the song but I want a video for I’m in love with another man

  25. Nikki I’ m with you

  26. Pearlsrevealed

Like Torya I love the look of this video. I am not shocked this song was chosen as a single b/c it will appeal to teens. I really like “Hurricane” but I don’t listen to the radio and her folks are not trying to target my age demograhic so it doesn’t matter. I have the CD and will listen to what I like.

  27. I loved this song even before it was a single. I think she’s made GREAT choices as far as singles go. All of her songs show her versatility as an artist which helps her appeal to a larger audience. I love the message of “Dream Big”….it’s my ringtone. Won’t appeal to everyone, but its got my vote…..Philly Stand Up!!!!

  28. What I like about this song is the message. How many times nowadays do we hear songs like this? And we say young people need to listen to music with better lyrics and a more positive message. This nails it. I also think the video is pretty cheesy, not to mention that it’s mainly close ups of her face like Teeda said. Overall, I like the song. I’m tryin’ to get out of where I am and do my thang on the acting scene. A work in progress. I was definitely inspired!

    Go ‘head Jazmine!
