Jazmine Sullivan Returns

It was just over a year ago that singer Jazmine Sullivan shocked her fans by announcing via Twitter that she would be taking an indefinite hiatus from the music industry. According to the 24 year old Philadelphia native, she needed to find out who she was without a mic, paper or pen.

Well apparently Jazzy didn’t discover much because girlfriend has reportedly been recording new music (thank God) every since her hiatus went into effect.

One of those new recordings is rumored to be “Drive By (Always On My Mind),” a single that leaked onto the internet earlier this week.

The track was reportedly co-written by Jazmine herself and samples the harmonies of the Flamingos’ 1959 hit “I Only Have Eyes For You.”

Give it a listen below and let us know what you think.

  1. Gosh it doesn’t even seem like it’s been a year…But I do like the track.

  2. I like it! but is the industry ready for her? I think this is why she left. My thing is this either you making music because its in your blood and you cant live without it, or you making it because you wanna get famous! in this industry of perfection, I think she should be like Badu and just make music for her fans, get on independant label that cares about substance over looks and rock out!!

  3. Didn’t listen. At work.

Can I get a biopic of “Phyllis Hyman” starring Jazz Sulli? C’mon! lol She would be perfect!

  4. @Kanyade she does resemble the late great Phyllis Hyman. Phyllis was HOT in her earlier years too!
