Jill Scott Lands Role in New FX Drama Snowfall

Jill Scott Lands Role in New FX DramaSinger Jill Scott is adding another acting credit to her already impressive resume.

According to published reports, Jill will be joining the cast of Snowfall, a new FX drama from Boyz n’ the Hood director John Singleton.

Also set to join the cast is Lauren London, who just wrapped up a three season stint on BET’s The Game. Both ladies join previously announced cast members Damson Idris and Billy Magnussen.

Snowfall looks back at the beginning of the crack epidemic in the early 80’s. It will tell the story from the perspective of three different characters- all “set on a violent collision course with one another.”

Jill will play the character of Sharon ‘Cissy’ Saint, the no non-sense mother of Franklin, played by British actor Damson Idris. Lauren, meanwhile, will take on the role of Louise Saint, Franklin’s hard partying aunt.

The pilot episode goes into production this fall. Should FX decide to pick up the drama, it will most likely air in the spring of 2016.
