K. Michelle Plans to Open Organic Hookah Restaurant in Atlanta
R n’ B singer K. Michelle is set to add restaurateur to her ever-growing list of accomplishments. Via her Instagram page, Michelle recently gave fans a glimpse of her new female friendly night spot called Puff Lounge Atlanta. Due to open in July, K. says her night club welcomes everyone, but will especially cater to women, noting the menu will have lots of “girly drinks,” and only play Motown tunes, so as to create “a calm and relaxing environment.”
In a recent interview with RollingStone, K. says Puff Lounge Atlanta was originally meant to be a hookah spot, but that she changed her mind, opting instead for something she felt would have a bit more longevity.
“I don’t smoke hookah, but my friends do. And while they love it, hookah can come and go,” she told the magazine. “I knew I had to do something different, so we came up with organic hookah. But Puff is mainly about food and we’re going to have the most amazing food at this restaurant. Also, we’re gonna have like 50 different drinks, girly drinks that won’t give you headaches like Captain Crunch martinis. There won’t be anything else like it in Atlanta. I’m really excited.”
Puff Lounge Atlanta is a joint venture between K. Michelle, designer Nicole Kelly of Crush Interior Design, and Sheema Fulton of Baltimore Crab & Seafood. Nicole designed the space, while Sheema will naturally provide the food. For her part, K. will feature new artists at the club weekly, mostly those recently signed to her new label with Atlantic Records.
