Kelly Rowland May Join X Factor US

KELLY ROWLAND TO JOIN US VERSION OF X FACTOR

According to the UK Daily Mail, singer Kelly Rowland is once again being courted by Simon Cowell to join his struggling American Idol spin-off X Factor.

Back in 2011 Kelly was a judge on the UK version but only stuck around for one season. While there Kelly missed several tapings due to illness and reportedly left the show due to “global commitments” and the show’s growing demands on personal time.

Despite her short lived time on the UK version of the show, word has it Simon thinks Kelly may be just the person to replace singer Britney Spears who quit, or was fired depending on who you believe, after only one season.

Should Kelly be offered the job and accept, she will reportedly be joining a panel that will consist of Simon, Demi Lovato and an unnamed fourth judge.

Let’s hope Kelly really thinks this one over. Many fans believe her stint on X Factor UK hindered her ability to promote her ‘Here I Am’ album. Should she actually join the US version, not doubt the show will have the same commitments and time constraints that forced her to quit the UK version.

  1. Well if her commitments are mostly US-based then maybe she will be able to fit it into her schedule.

I don’t watch XFactor, The Voice, America’s Got Talent, American Idol, none of those shows. They just don’t appeal to me. The fact that Simon wants Kelly says a lot, but the fact that XFactor is still on the air… as well as American Idol…

I would think audiences would be done now with viewing the ‘inner-workings’ of the pop machine. But it’s another reality [show] and those shows comprise more viewership than scripted TV, well, I don’t know.

Fare thee well and good luck to all!
