Despite poor sales of her sophomore album, singer Kelly Rowland will still hit the tour circuit this fall to support her CD, Miss Kelly, which is rumored to be re-released before the year is out. The Kelly Rowland with Mario- Fall 2007 Tour is due to kick off in Seatle Washington on October 28th and wrap up on December 1st with a three-night run at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas.

Kelly can’t sell records for the same reason Solange can’t. Neither is unique vocally or bring anything musically to the lanscape that doesn’t already exist.
I wish Kelly Rowland many blessings :thumbsup: . Sometimes just because you have a talent for something does not mean that’s supposed to be your destined purpose. For example, you have some people in society that are extremely good cooks but that does not mean becoming a Chef is their destined purpose. We must always remember that life is about purpose and destiny. However, we do have the power to create the positive and the neative outcome in our life through our feelings and emotions. One thing I do see in Kelly is her confidence level is not what it should be. When you don’t have faith in your own abilites then that can bring your career, life, etc to a screeching hault or stagnation. She definately needs new management someone that will invest more time and money into building her career. But good luck I hope she breaks down the barrers to be what it is she wants to become :thumbsup: .
you know what? i’m happy for kelly! finally she’s going on tour! and i think she’s about to surprize some people. i read a review of one of her concerts which took place a week ago in ohio, and it was great. the reviewer said the people at the concert were screaming kelly’s name when she finished performing! i think she needs to start small before she can become huge. people need to be surprised by kelly, and i think a great tour is definately a wow building factor that she needs because people see her as boring and unable to carry a performance alone. i wish her the best of luck and if she stops by my area i’ll definately pick up a ticket to go see her. i also heard her tour will have an international leg starting in january 2008. that’s great! hopefully the tour and her rerelease will help her image, her career, and her confidence.

I don’t think that it has anything to go with her vocal abilities. There are many singers whose vocal abilities are more than questionable that manage to sell more records than she does.
Naike I agree and Beyonce is one of them LOL :lol2: . Beyonce does not have great or amazing vocal abilites she is mediocre at best. She is just overrated and the media have told people to believe that she is an amazing artist not :thumbsdown: Great vocal abitlities would be Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Areatha etc :thumbsup: .

I see she’s coming to the Palladium in Dallas, TX. I think that’s like a multi-level club. At any rate, it isn’t a big venue. Still, maybe doing the Chitlin’ Circuit, for lack of a better description, will be good for. Maybe it will help her generate more fans because it will place her one-on-one with fans again.
Does anyone know how well her performances in Europe and the U.K. took off during her earlier promotional touring? Were they large venues? How was the reception at these venues?
I’m sure she’ll be touring the new and improved CD that she’s rewriting now, eh? She IS still re-issuing the album isn’t she? I wonder if it’s worth saving? or should it have been scrapped so that she could go back to the drawing board and create a better record? She’s seen, most of these artists (particularly ones who are pushing back release dates) can see or are seeing how the landscape of music has changed. It’s HARD to sell the way records used to sell. Technology is all over the place with various ways for fans to get music. I hope she can, along with her management, figure out new ways to navigate the game now. I think it will come down to spreading yourself thin, really putting yourself out there in all venues and formats to sell and be successful these days. Case and point: Beyonce and what she did with this last record. I don’t believe the mania of releasing/re-releasing/video for every song/Itunes/other tunes, etc. was so prevalent 5 years ago…or was it?

I like Kelly but she is not a very good vocal singer. I cannot listen to a kelly song from beginning to end. Michelle is under-rated. She isn’t all that either but has a stronger voice then Miss Kelly.
Kelly doesn’t have the material to headline a show! What is going on is someone trying to mess her up? Now not only will it be public notice that she didn’t sale records but it will also be public notice that she can’t sale tickets. She is not a headliner. She’s an opening act at best and that’s a bad look considering her group history of being a headliner with Destiny’s CHild. THey need to wait on that and just send her over sea’s where she sales more.

Kelly needs to do a chittling circuit because her camp will lose money by doing a big tour. She needs to perform at night clubs and engage her audiences in small intimate settings. If she puts on a great show, more people will want to see her. Take notes from Beyonce. If your songs lack substance, make up for it with entertainment. Ciara isn’t a great singer either, but we like to watch her perform. That is what Kelly is missing. She doesn’t demand the spotlight. Maybe it was her destiny to be in the background. She has had much success in Destiny’s Child, and people love her. We’re just not willing to spend our hard earned money on a luke-warm album. Re-releasing the album is a slap in the face to her fans. If the album is bad, throw it out and start from scratch. KELLY, WE WANT YOU TO SUCCEED. Same thing with Letoya Luckett. We want them to do well. They just have to step their game up, and by stepping your game up I DO NOT MEAN take your clothes off and gyrating to sell records.
Kelly just needs to step outside of the box and be different. Take what’s unique about yourself and let it shine baby girl. Put some feeling in your music, not just with the words, but with the sound. Make your sound unique. Make your appearance unique (Most black entertainers are putting long black extensions in their hair. They all look alike, especially to white people. lol). Sing from your soul and give us a NEW superstar. OK?
I really like Kelly Rowland’s CD. The problem is that it is being marketed to to wrong(hip-hop) group. The reason why many young people don’t get it is because her lyrics are a little too mature for them. If she would market to a mature audience(contemporary R&B) I believe she would have more success. What I liked most about her CD was that her lyrics and musical arrangements are mature and they remind me of classic Whitney Houston. Most of the young people who don’t get her are most likely Beyonce fans, which kinda speaks for it self. Beyonce lyrics are catchy, but lack subtance and that is what unfortunately most of the young people like today.

Well, at least she works hard for the money. Folks are not really giving her a chance to build her audience. She is trying to grow out of a situation where the main focus has been Beyonce. Beyonce has had the benefit of the DC experience to build her audience for many years. Kelly didn’t get that opportunity. So, Kelly is really at the beginning of her career as a star. Before, she was just a glorified backup singer with Beyonce being the heart and soul of DC. It’s almost like leaving your old job to start your own business. How many of you can leave McDonalds and build as successful a franchise as that? It takes a lot of time and a lot of work. Let ‘em live! Let ‘em work!

If Kelly’s mediocre music was judged by the same scale of the other mediocre music that people rave about — she’d be a top seller.
Instead she’s constantly compared to Beyonce, whom we all know she’s not really at that level of sheer star power or dynamic performing.

Had she been trying to forge her own persona instead of hanging on to the Knowles’ every word she may have been in better shape.
She didn’t get the benefit because she was always in the shadows not the spotlight. Bey was the lead singer on all the hits, she was given opportunity to write on all the songs, she was positoned in the center as the star and she got extra publicity with other projects. So, she was better positioned for success. Like any product on the market, these human products must be positioned for maximum exposure and success. It may not be Beys fault but Kelly was not given the same opportunities. Stevie Wonder can see that.
Maybe, she wasn’t given the same opportunities because management recognized that she wasn’t a star. If Kelly was a true star her personality would not have allowed her to stay in Beyonce’s shadow for so long. She is truly just a back up singer. People who really want something never wait for it to come to them. They go out and get it – by any means necessary!
Kelly can forget about super stardom. She should go to college or open her own business.
I would advise kelly to change her tour dates she might sell out in new orleans during the bayou Classic.
