Kelly Rowland “Work” Video

Kelly Rowland’s video for her new single “Work” has just been released and it’s a cute video for a really cute song. Kelly gets a lot of respect from me for continuing to promote her “Miss Kelly” CD despite low sales. A lot of people say she should change management and record labels but I don’t agree. The fact that videos are still being made is a good sign and shows her label has not given up on her as an artist.

Kelly is beautiful. But, the music is mediocre run of the mill R&B. She needs to funk up her music with some hip hop and rock. She needs her own look and personality. Does her team not have any imagination? She needs to get out of the DC look and go with a signature look like Rihanna chose to do a punked out look. Kelly needs a look that says Kelly is in the house.

I actually liked it- the song and the video! Shocked that I do but I do. Mane, if Kel gone keep going at it, I’ma just wish her all the luck and blessings that she prosper and succeed by reaching whatever goal she wishes to attain w/ this album and future projects. As a matter of fact, I wish and pray that for all that reads my post cause it’s so tough in this world with all the people trying to tell what to do, what you can’t do or shouldn’t do. Sometimes I think that there is a conspiracy against Kelly. Coming from someone who is an R&B fan for life, Kelly has the whackest songs out there, period. Everything about her music seem rhodementary (damn spellcheck). LeToya’s album was really really good, as though there were people working with her who actually wanted her to be successful. Kelly could make it in Today’s industry if she was with a label that can change her image into something totally different from DC, BE, etc. In a time where stars are made and not born there is no excuse for Kelly to be so, so, terrible. Kelly may as well, get a rag, tie it around her head, take her shoes off and sing cumbaya. That is how far away from the old image she needs to get.

I mean she’s not as a solo but she is as a group and she should be able to ride off that wave like Beyonce did. I don’t blacme Mr.Knowles but I will say that I find it funny that they have the tools and they don’t give them all to Kelly. That looked like those cheap videos Beyonce did for her anthology dvd. That video is not polished enough. I have that for her she’s gonna love Beyonce and that family so much that she doesn’t do whats best for her career. Beyonce may never want to do another destiny’s child album. What is she gonna do then? I’m glad she’s branching out to do this choir battle thing and get some more solid income because this project probly didn’t even cover her budget in sales.

Not only is it evident that this song sounds like a made-up Beyonce song, but the video was/looks to have been also choreographed by the same choreographer of Ms. Knowles, or one closely affiliated to her camp.
The song is interesting. Kelly is all over the place with words. The video is simple, but where is the charisma? Where’s the cunty-liciousness?
This video is as old as Kelly’s album photoshoot, hence the bedazzled tat on her back. I’ve always heard this song was one of the stronger cuts on the record. I kind of like the song, but I don’t think it’s enough to “save” the record…or her career at this point.

It breaks my heart why people don’t like Kelly, i think she is a brilliant singer, beautiful girl and she is got a good voice, one of my best Destiny child. Hm, Kelly seems to be having a hard time. She has talent, she’s pretty, she has a decent voice. It may not be the fact that she is boring, it may just be that I’ve seen this formula and style many a time before, but it was Beyonce. Everyone runs to Beyonce, and puts the crown on her head first, including the public, fans, and the management. As long as they try to use the rinse-and-repeat style on Kelly, it won’t work. As long as they put half the effort in, it won’t work. No one wants a second Beyonce. The video, the sound, the style is the same.
One thing they do have in common though are these empty, made-for-radio songs. They may be fun for radio, but they’ll never make you think or wonder.

I feel like kelly needs a new look, period, this is why everybody is up in arms about the video and songs because as many have said and will keep repeating…kelly needs a new stylist that will brand her a sig. look!! right now the long locks and bedazzled outfits is beyonce formula.
May I suggest kelly go back to short hair and if she wants to channel the 90’s rock some of those leather outfits she used to wear when it was her and the original members of the group. I always thought that back then she was the only one out of the group that actually looked good in those outfits tina made them which by the way were very good constructed outfits that only really looked good on her. Thats it, kelly, cut your hair… you have nice bone structure, and can get away with the short look and please if you dont want to dance dont fake it, a good tune goes a long way, just ask Mariah, who doesnt really attempt to do something she isnt good at.
