Kenya Moore Joins RHOA Cast

Former Miss USA and budding actress, Kenya Moore, is reportedly set to join the fifth season of Bravo’s highly rated reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Straightfromthea.com exclusively reported the news a few days ago and Kenya coyly confirmed it to Sister2Sister earlier today.

Kenya said she’s not too fond of most reality shows because she thinks they make women look “immature and petty,” but added she hopes to bring something different to her time on the show.

“I feel like it’s almost like my duty to take the job because it’s the converse of what we’re seeing now,” she told Sister2Sister.

So will you guys be tuning in to see the latest non housewife join The Real Housewives of Atlanta? I know I will. I’m a huge Kenya fan.

FYI: I watched Basketball Wives the first season Tami Roman was on because I loved her on The Real World. I hope Kenya doesn’t pull a Tami and make me regret my decision to tune in to RHOA for the first time.

  1. I will be watching just to see Kenya because all those other ladies, oh lord.

  2. I love Kenya and I hope there’s turn…do like the Kardashians, take it to the bank. They center their shows around various revenue streams, ok! Tami wasn’t ready, could have really maximized this latest 15 minutes. She’s a very good actress and a naturally beautiful woman!

I hope Kenya brings a new spin, I’ll watch a couple of episodes to see because I am a big fan. I think her brand of beauty should be on parade and seen by the masses! It’s not a big deal now, but winning Miss USA at one time was a huge deal! I love Jessica White, Brandy, Kelly Rowland, Heather Headley, Ledisi to Tamia, Vanessa Williams (both of them), Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Beyonce who represent our diversity and beauty, from the lightest to the darkest. I know people get tire of the color thing, but it’s prevalent in every culture. Blondes vs Brunettes is still a problem. I work and talk with young girls and it means something for them to see women like Kelly or Kenya, for real!

  3. None of these black women on these shows have been able to brand themselves and walk away richer. Even the Braxtons havent been able to parlay their fame into riches. More branding and less drama needs to be the focus.

  4. i think the reason that black women can’t parlay their reality experience into anything more because they don’t have crossover appeal. the black women act “urban”, mainstream runs from that. but, just entertainers if you are crossover material , you will be a success.

  5. I agree that the women act “urban” and that won’t give them crossover appeal for the exception of Kandi and Nene. Nene is truly “urban” but she partners with mainstream partners, the pizza guy to have her own airport pizza kiosks, a shoe line with Kim K., a recurring role on Glee and I’m sure other projects. Kandi makes smart moves as an already very successful artist!

I didn’t understand why Evelyn didn’t focus more on her shoe store and prep to do something big on QVC or HSN???? I believe they get caught up in being a celebrity, the fame and invites, red carpet events and lose sight of the big picture and long-term benefits. Jennifer is on the right track, she came in with her game tight (Flirtygirl Fitness – a principle), educational background, travel experience and marriage to a pro-baller as disgusting as he his. Hooking up with an LA in-crowd & multicultural networking, her lip gloss line. Why EV is so mad. If you can’t do it, hire people who can!

  6. i hope jennifer partners with hsn or qvc, and branch out.

  7. I wonder how she will fit in. She’s very beautiful. 🙂 We shall see!

  8. All I can say is.. why? Don’t do it to yourself girl(Kenya)! Run as fast as you can from the mess that is “reality tv”!

  9. Yea run chic run. I think a lot of women come on these shows with one intention and then it changes.class goes right out the door.

  10. I like Kenya Moore and think shes’ beautiful but a reality TVs show I am not sure.

  11. I don’t think Phaedra Parks has in any way embarrassed herself or hurt her business by appearing on the show. I think Kenya will conduct herself well and be a great addition. I’ll watch just for her.

Basketball Wives is another thing. There is no way to avoid drama on that show. Even if the women come in with good intentions, folks like Tami will try to bring them down to her level.
