KERI HILSON DIVAS LIVE 150x250 Keri Hilson Joins Divas Lineup

Singer Keri Hilson is the latest artist to be added to VH1’s ever expanding list of artists to take the stage at this year’s ‘VH1 Divas Live’ concert, which will pay tribute to singers Donna Summer and Whitney Houston

Keri joins previously announced performers Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Ledisi and of all people, Natasha Bedingfield.

For those of you not in the know, Natasha gave a piss poor performance of Donna’s 1978 hit single ‘Last Dance’ at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. Whereas many people complained of the performance being cut short, I was floored that Natasha screwed up half the song’s lyrics. Clearly the British singer was not a true Donna fan and probably had her name chosen out of a hat to perform the tribute.

At any rate, VH1 will surely do Donna and Whitney justice when they air ‘VH1 Divas Live: A Tribute to Whitney Houston & Donna Summer’ on December 16th. The show will air simultaneously on television and on VH1’s official website.

  1. i love this show, but i hate when people equate DIVA to having to be black or ethnic. i know VH1 has run these hot mess reality shows but its still VH1 not BET.

    hopefully this will be nice

i remember when Cher and Tina Turner burned down the stage in this shows early years

  2. I will be watching and ms keri is looking very anita baker-ish in that pic.

  3. Forget Natasha. Ciara?! She’s not a vocalist in any sense of the word. Dancer, yes. Vocalist, no.

  4. Pardon lil Ole Me...Another Martini Plz!

@girl agreed …Ciara ain’t gotz no business in that Line up list period! Baha

  5. Ciara is not a vocalist and neither is Keri. Both are very entertaining though.

  6. I think Ciara did a good job during the MJ tribute at BET a few years ago. I think under the right circumstances she could perform an uptempo Whitney Houston song with a few of the other ladies.

  7. No offense but the whole Diva thing I associate with phenominal singers and nobody from this group measures up to that. Diva was Gladys, Whitney, Chaka, Celine, etc. women who’s vocals could blow you away. None of these girls has anything close to that, in fact most singers today sound like autotuned 10 year olds. Vh1 should just give the Diva’s concert a rest the greats are gone.

  8. @RIC: Word! I didn’t want to go there, but you are so spot on.
