Keri Hilson recently shot the video for “Slow Dance”, my favorite single off of her “In A Perfect World” CD. The Chris Robinson directed video will feature cameos from Monica, Melanie Thornton, Chris Brown and Omarion. Look for Keri’s video to premiere next month- until then you can enjoy the singer performing her “Slow Dance” via an appearance on Walmart’s “Live Soundcheck”.

Felt very Prince to me. Depending on the song she sounds pretty good some songs not so much,….this is one song that I def like. This live performance was good.
This song is really hot!!!
I love the fact that she’s performing with a band, demonstrates she can sing. She wasn’t very good at all on the BET Awards. But, also remember that the vocal cords are a muscle and strengthen’s the more it’s trained and used. It’s obvious that she’s worked on her live performance and vocals.
Keri isn’t the greatest singer, but she does have a nice voice and is soulful. MJ said: “when they bring back the harmony and melody back to the music that people will knock the doors down to it.” We’re on our way back to good music. The listening taste of music listeners have to change and it’ll take brave artists and record companies to make it happen. They’re losing tons of money anyway!

The reason why it sounds Prince-esque is because the first 5 seconds of this clip are the opening chords of “The Beautiful Ones,” from Prince’s “Purple Rain” LP. Kinda disappointed no one caught that, LOL
I love this song. It reminds me of 90’s R&B. I love Monica too. Monica get out of other peoples videos and get to the studio girl. You are too hot to be behind people.
