Why Keri, Why?

I like singer Keri Hilson. I’m not her biggest fan, but I did enjoy the “No Boys Allowed” album and generally enjoy following her both on Twitter and Facebook. She’s a positive artist and usually shares a lot of great info via her social media sites.

However, there is almost never a day that passes in which Keri is not having it out with one of her detractors via these sites. Today was no different.

After sending out a virtual *poot* to her haters, Keri was once again back to responding to the never ending barrage of Twitter haters who follow her every word.

So why does Keri take valuable time out of her day to respond to the thousands, yes thousands, of negative comments she receives online? Only Keri knows the answer to that. But if I were her manager, and Chris Brown’s too, I would advise them both to take a break.

Both artists have found themselves under attack for comments sent out that wound up being either misunderstood or misconstrued by the public.

Twitter and Facebook are PR tools best used by PR professionals. Ashton Kutcher learned this lesson the hard way, eventually turning his account over to professional handlers.

I’m not saying Keri, Chris or any celebrity for that matter should never tweet. What I am saying, is that too much interaction with the public is never a good thing for any celeb. Eventually something somewhere will go wrong and it is the celeb that has the most to lose.

Both Keri and Chris’ tongues have gotten them into trouble, especially Chris who has deleted his account more times than I can remember. So why not lay off for a while? Give the twitterverse a break and leave the updates up to your assistants or PR people.

Better yet, take a clue from artists like Beyonce who never tweets or Janet Jackson, who tweets once in a blue moon. Mystery is a good thing. Virtually farting online Keri, is not.

  1. Why call out Keri and Chris when Rihanna does the same thing and often in a more obscene fashion. Rihanna is a big Twittter bully.

  2. my thoughts exactly @ reign. took the words right out of my mouth. um its clear there is a constant double standard when it comes to Rihanna. she gets away with every damn thing on this site smh! Stop being biased and more objective.

  3. First off, Keri’s comments were tasteful and signified that she indeed is the bigger person in regards to dealing with negative comments and cyber bullys. I disagree with the author that celebs should have professionals…yes, they need to seperate themselves somewhat, yet they DO need to show they are real people with feelings and while mystery is good, all publicity is good publicity good or bad. For example, the author taking the time to criticize Keri in this instance garnered her pretty much free promotion. There are a few things that off put me to keri, but I am on her and every other celebrity who stands up for themselves side. I’m so tired of people having computer-balls and saying things over a computer screen that they would never say to a persons face. I think more celebs should speak up that it hurts and perhaps it would deter unneccesary negativity.

  5. some artists respond NOT for the haters but FOR thier true fans to let them know, they are good.

i dont see the problems with her tweets. she wasnt going toe to toe just stating her feelings on the matter.

ive seen worse (rihanna whom i adore)

so…………. so what? this didnt need a post…lol

  6. no matter how many records she has or movies she do……whenthe lgiht are off she is a human being with feelings and emotions…SHE’S ONLY HUMAN. she is not the FIRST nor will she be the LAST.

  7. Their is a reason why Rihanna won the social media award for promotion.
She talks to her fans , she promotes her stuff, but if you cross the line she will come at you. With beyonce you only get info from her social media sites when she has shyt to sell. no wonder her album fail, because the game has change fans expect more communication with artist and they know when its the artist who’s responding.
