Kerry Washington Producing New Female Cop Drama

Actress Kerry Washington is putting her production deal with ABC to good use. According to published reports, Kerry is producing a new all-female police drama for the network titled Patrol. The series will reportedly follow four policewomen who are forced to reconnect in order to confront a secret that won’t stay buried.

As previously reported, Kerry inked a two-year production deal with ABC earlier this year following the successful premiere of her HBO movie Confirmation. Kerry starred in and produced the film via her Simpson Street production company, which will also be producing Patrol. Kerry will not be starring in her new series but will reportedly oversee the show’s casting process.

Over the last year ABC has inked production deals with all the leading ladies of their TGIT line-up, including Ellen Pompeo of Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder’s Viola Davis.

  1. ABC is rocking it with women and POC. Here’s hoping Kerry succeeds where Shonda has, so that ABC that that there are more talented women out there.
