Keyshia Cole is set to make quite a bit of noise in the new year. The 34-year old singer recently announced plans for a new album, and if rumors are to be believed, a small role in the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic.
Via Instagram, Keyshia announced plans to ditch releasing her upcoming album independently, saying “I really felt independence was the best route, but clearly that is not God’s plan for me right now.” Keyshia went on to tell fans she now has a team that wants her to “win,” and that with renewed support she plans to create the best album of her career.
Keyshia recently reunited with her former manager, Manny Halley, and is signed to his Imani Records label, which is distributed by Capital Records.
And in another bit of Keyshia news, the California native is reportedly set to make her big screen debut in the upcoming Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me.
Via her official Facebook page, Keyshia announced plans to play a “gangsta” female character by the name of Queen.
Before she made it big, Keyshia did back-up vocals for MC Hammer and through him she met Tupac. Keyshia has called the late rapper a friend and mentor, saying he was the first person to truly believe in her.
All Eyez on Me is being directed by Benny Boom and stars newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. in the title role.
