Though her most recent album was released less than six months ago, R n’ B diva Keyshia Cole is already working on it’s follow up. The singer, who is slated to kick off her own headlining tour next month, is also said to be working on her biopic. Not yet 30, Keyshia feels she has lived a lifetime and is ready to share her story with her fans and the world. Keyshia’s manager released a statement earlier this week not only detailing the singer’s musical and biographical aspirations, but to also let the fans know that Keyshia would continue to support “A Differemt Me” by releasing two more singles from the album, including “Trust Me” which features Keyshia’s good friend and singer in her own right, Monica.
Look for Keyshia’s next album to be released in December and the biopic is of course still a work in progress.

this girl is putting out albums left and right…but i aint mad at her
A Different Me was a piss poor effort on the part of Keyshia. I think Geffen is working her like a dog and in the process her music is suffering. :stop:
Yeah I think her last album was not up to standard. I think too much music can make your ability suffer. I didn’t buy her last album – it was lacking what I loved about her first CD
I love her latest CD its different sounds, and she’s growing as an artist
oh lord keysh, please don’t try to over saturate the market, you know the backlash you will get if people start to see you too much?? but i hope the next album is better than this last one, it doesn’t compare to the first two
I agree that Keyshia shouldn`t move too fast; slow down a bit, take a break and live some. In my opinion, I think it allows you to focus more. If you`re over-exposed, over-saturating the market every other year, there`s no way you will be focused as an artist, any artist. You have to take a break in order to allow your creative senses to take their course. All artists, in my humble opinion, should allow for the public to miss you; both fans and all others alike. I guess I`m echoing your comment, Mrsjones.
If the public is constantly seeing you, like an immediate family member, and even they you grow tired of sometimes, it can definitely cause a backlash/resentment. Artists have to know how to have that balance, and give the public just enough, and then pull back for awhile. I think 3 years between albums, while keeping a low profile, is the perfect way to go, in my humble opinion. If you`re in my face every time I turn around, that`s not good; I, myself, will begin to resent you. Just as it`s her life/career, this is my opinion.
Michael Jackson & The GOLDEN 80s 4 ever!!!
Congrats Keysh, if others can stay here 24/7 so can you, I love you anyway
I love Keyshia but we need more promotion of “A different Me” before we get a new album from u boo. lyk Diddy said to Donnie Klang, you gotta promote the album that’s out, do radio show, talk shows, whatever to get more fans and make new ones so they can buy the album (i’m paraphrasing)
I really am glad for Keysha, but her albums are not my cup of tea. I love her show though on BET and would be very interested in seeing a movie about her life.
Thats how people get tired of you…she needs to let her latest album sink in for a while, do a lil more promotion and videos THEN come out with another album. Thats why Ashanti is PLAYED OUT too many albums at the same time, not enough HITS! Good Luck nonetheless :bag:
She know what she’s doing, and her pockets do to… So hate on Haters!!!
Keyshia get it girl!!!!
@ Dana
:iagree:
This album was rushed and it just wasn’t really I think Keyshia knows that, and I know that the next one will be waaay better than that different her hot mess.
A different me hasn’t gone platium yet, and I don’t think it will sale much more, so it’s very smart of her to get on with something else.
The biopic, I can’t wait. At first I was thinking that would be a bad idea because so much of her personal life was already out in the open, but she said there is alot we don’t know about so this should be good. I have a good feeling that Keyshia can actually act. I just hope she doesn’t over think things and mess up like she did with her last album.
i agree with danna and ksh did not like a different me.
@Smooth Criminal :iagree:
On a more serious note, I hope her sister Neffie can finally heal and figure out those anger and men issues.
These days, artists rush to put out albums way too soon. Back in the day, you had to wait and anticipate new projects from your favorite singers. They used the time in between albums to mature and live life..nowadays it’s all about the $$$$..
Now, I think the movie will be good. Lord knows Keyshia’s family got some serious drama and that always makes for a good story
Totally agree with Smooth Criminal, artists would do a lot better and have more sales and longevity if they slowed down the pace of their albums. There are a few artists who do that like Mary J Blige, akeys and john legend/christina aguilera, but the rest just push out albums like there’s no tomorrow and the public quickly get sick of them
People love anticipation especially when it comes to music, i.e. if anita baker/sade/stacie orrico/maxwell/christina aguilera dropped albums out anyday soon I’d be the first to buy and see them on tour because they are amazing artists who haven’t released music in ages. Those type of artists are legendary for a reason.
The young ones need to think before rushing albums so damn quickly
agree she shud take a lil brake and come bck stronger, she has always been beautiful, there was no reason to market her as a sex symbol and twick her face, her voice is very soulful, emotional, natural….i didnt support her latest work coz it felt like a gimmick and didnt feel her so-called growth,i’m still rocking her previous album….i see that some beyonce stanz are in here telling keyshia not to overexpose herself, wow! wow! wow! thats rich coming from you,i’m shocked but it is a good advise thou…… bey the spotlight ***** gets away with overexposure
I am a Keiysha fan and i think her first album by far was the best. I bought her 2nd album and it was ok/good. But I listen to the first more. And since I wasn’t really excited about the 2nd, i didn’t purchase her latest. Before her sophomore album came out she was talking about how it was waaay better than her first one. How she had vocal lessons etc. Well I disagree. And some of the artists out today need to look at how Madonna, Michael, Janet and Whitney did things. They would hibernate for several years and then BOOM. They come out with a new style, new hair, new sound to their music. That was really exciting. Alicia Keys seems to understand this and I love her for that.
But back to KC. I enjoyed her reality show and hope that continues.
