Leona Lewis’ rep says the singer is “understandably shaken” after a man attacked her at a book signing in Central London earlier today. According to Scotland Yards, Leona was signing copies of her new autobiography “Dreams” when a 29 year old male, who was subsequently arrested, appeared out of nowhere and punched the singer in the face. The assailant was quickly apprehended and paramedics were called for Leona, who was taken to the hospital. There was no information released on how seriously she was hurt. Police released a statement saying the assailant was arrested on “suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.”

The man was obviously out of his mind as she didn’t deserve that! There are some crazy people in this world.
I just read about this and saw pictures of what appeared to be her crying. How sad. It’s scary because there’s no way to prevent this kind of assault, really. The man accused was just waiting in line like other fans, she signed his book and then he punched her {says a witness}.
I hope Leona’s well and can overcome this incident soon.

Anyone can talk all day about what they would have done, but you never really know how you’d react in a situation unless you were in it. I’m sure Leona, who seems like a real sweetheart, was just trying to promote her product and put her best face forward when some a**wipe decided to act a fool and put his hands on her. I hope she doesn’t let this set her back for too long. I was never a fan but she seems like a good person.

Book and record signings are meanat to be a bit more personal. People walk up to the table and talk to you, shake your hand and even get a pic. It is sad some X Factor reject took his anger out on her in such a way. Poor thing.
