Letoya Luckett Joins ‘Drumline’ Cast

Singer Letoya Luckett has been cast in the sequel to Nick Cannon’s 2002 hit flick “Drumline.”

“Drumline: A New Beat,” will be produced by Nick Cannon and is set to air on VH1 in early 2015.

The film co-stars Jasmine Burke, Alexandra Shipp, Leonard Roberts and Sean Taylor, who also appeared the original.

According to a press release issued by VH1, ‘A New Beat” “will capture the sound and spirit of the original film, while welcoming in a whole new class to the Atlanta A&T drumline.”

This will be Letoya’s official return to VH1 since they canceled her series “Single Ladies” earlier this year. The show has now been picked up by Centric, but according to Luckett, she has so far not been contacted by the network to reprise her role of Felicia Price.

  1. Good for her!!! I would love to see LeToya in a feature film as a lead, she’s really good. I was impressed with her Preacher’s Kid acting role, she did great! She has a relatable look and could tell some really good stories to represent brown sistas…Tyler Perry and the others can’t do them all…I hope she forms her own production company, use her celebrity and kick-start some film roles for herself and others! Netflix competing with other streaming services (means of distribution), device companies like Roku (love it!), Apple TV (not so good), Wii, and Amazon throwing their hat in the arena with Fire TV, along with On Demand cable providers, the iron is hot to strike!
