Letoya Luckett is officially back. The singer has dropped a 1960s Motown themed video to go with her first single, Not Anymore, from her soon to be released sophomore album, Lady Love.
Look for Letoya’s new project to drop on April 7th.

I will be getting this cd :bowdown: ! Its been such a long time since I heard a song and liked it right away. This video is the best I’ve seen in a long time. Videos are supposed to tell a story not sell sex… I mean, that is what they were SUPPOSED to do.
I really like her a lot. She looks like Flo from The Supremes in some spots in this, ha ha. She’s a talented girl and I plan to get her disc and support her.

A lot of stations haven’t been playing it but I can almost guarantee that they will now. Go Toya!!!! But this song is almost in the top 40. So hopeufully it will be. The south and up north have been showing love.

I am glad that this blog and other black blogs are starting to show case other black female entertainers. I think this is great. Now maybe we can get a little diversity like with different types of black females singers.

Her last CD was ok but as far as growth goes she has come a long way. You can tell especailly when she is singing on this. So you don’t have to get her CD she’ll be just fine hun. :thumbsup:

Well this song wasn’t a hit when it first came out, that’s why. This is song is what some would call a grower. So ppl right off the bat didn’t take to the song until after a couple times listening to it. But it has picked up tremendously and it’s already on the billboard rhythmic at # 43 with not that much promo. But she has started doing promo this past week so you should see more of her soon. :smile:
I can’t wait to see LeToya perform the song live. Speaking of live, when is this video going to debut on TV? Trust I will vote the hell out this video. LeToya is just a lovely person altogether. And I am highly anticipating her acting chops…THE PREACHER’s KID.

LeToya’s last CD, the ballads anyway were fine. it had a bit too much hip-hop for her voice but, other than that it was good. however, she is one person, as you can see from this song, who understands how to make a strong, RESTRAINED, vocal. And though her voice is stronger, it still took beyonce cds to learn this lesson. LeToya has shown phenomenal growth and is the ONLY other DC member to ever have a number 1 album or a platinum album so kudos to her. will be buying this and the upcoming Keri Hilson CD. they will both be crazy good.

I loved the video. I liked how Bryan Barber used a very modern R&B song with a plot that takes place in the 60’s. Most video directors and recording artist tend to have a 60’s themse song with the video to match. I thought it was cute. She looked great in the video!

I am a mild-core R&B junkie, with that said I enjoyed Toya last album. It took a little while to grow on me because the production was too Hip Hop however, Toya’s vocals made a nice contrast to the aggressive beats. This song is more my style: Rhythmic, smooth, catchy, yet sexy. :smile:

I love dance but the STYLE of dance showcased in many music videos during the past decade is too vulgar for my taste. Also, the dancers are often dressed trashy. There are many examples in the early years of music video that proves that you can “drop it like it’s hot” and even be sensual without looking ******.

I liked the video and the song. It does actually tell a story and doesn’t have those slow motion close up shots that permeate most vids. I hope LeToya scores big with this album though this single is a slow burner.

I agree it is a refreshing change to see a video with an actually story line. She looks great and has grown tremendously as an artist. I hope the best for her. I have her last CD and it was a solid effort so I am sure this one will be even better. I like that she is just doing her, keep working and going at her own pace. If you don’t take your time and do it right the industry can rush you and make you something you don’t want to be. It’s all about longevity.
