Rapper Lil Kim was spotted recently shooting a new video in of all places- Japan. These photos were sent to me via e-mail but with very little info. So I have no idea what the single is or why they went all the way to Japan to shoot it. Like Mya, Lil Kim might have a strong Japanese fans base that has missed her and is willing to give her music a chance. Quite a few R n’ B females over the years have found the Japanese to be far more accepting of their music than Americans. Mya just released a new album over there last month, while Eve and Amerie have each had recent hits in the country. So maybe lil Kim is following in their footsteps and releasing music just for the Japanese/overseas fan base. Time will tell.
Update: I have been told that these pics are from the set of SE7EN’s “Them Girls” video- a song that Lil Kim appears on.

So is that how it works? You show your “ethnicity” through your hairstyle (cornrows) but alter/destroy the innate features that showcase your heritage (in Kim’s case, nose, complexion, eye color, etc.)
She did a track with an Asian artist called Se7en. ( It’s actually really good even with autotune IMO) so maybe she’ filming the vid to that.
Yeh she’s on the set of Se7en’s “Them Girls” Remix video. He’s the guy in the pics with her. The song is produced by Rodney Jerkins and is pretty hot!

I love Lil Kim, but my daughter and I were talking about how much she has changed since Biggie died. She has not been the same with all of the issues she has had to confront, but I wish her well. I really love her work too.
