Lupita Nyong’o Covers ‘Dark Girls’ Book

As previously reported, actor Bill Duke’s critically acclaimed documentary “Dark Girls” has spawned a coffee table book of the same name. Set to be released on November 4th via Amistad Publishers, the cover was released earlier today and features Oscar winner turned Lancôme spokesmodel Lupita Nyong’o.

Photography for the book was helmed by Barron Clairborne and will feature 75 stunning images of everyday black women, as well as models and celebrities who share insight into what their dark skin means to them.

As well as Lupita, the book will feature images of Brandy, Cicely Tyson, Pauletta Washington, Karli Harvey and many others.

You can pre-order the book on Amazon in both hard cover and digital formats.

  1. Good for Bill Duke, I will support him and my “Dark Girls” and pick up the book. Bill Duke is not only a fine actor but he’s a very accomplished director. Having directed one of my favorite films ever, A Rage in Harlem. Perfection!!!

  2. I’m going to have to check this book out. Tv One did a Unsung Hollywood on Bill Duke an it was pretty good.

  3. thanks for sharing about this- will be ordering when it comes out
