Lupita Nyong’o Covers DuJour Magazine

Actress Lupita Nyong’o is covering the Winter 2013 edition of DuJour magazine.

The 30-year old Kenyan native, by way of Mexico City, Mexico, is garnering quite a bit of Oscar buzz for her role as Patsey in Steve McQueen’s latest film “12 Years a Slave.”

Lupita, whose father is a Kenyan Senator and cousin was recently named by Forbes magazine as one of Africa’s most powerful women, landed her debut role in ‘12’ just months before graduating from the Yale School of Drama.

In a recent interview Lupita described her breakout role as “a dream,” noting not every first-time actress gets to work with the likes of Steve McQueen (Director), Brad Pitt (Producer) and Michael Fassbender (Actor.)

“I still pinch myself sometimes when I think about it,” Lupita gushed. “I never thought this possible my first time out.”

Lupita’s shock and awe is likely continue as she is expected to garner both Golden Globe and Oscar nods for her role.
