Mary Gets Supernatural+Beyonce Catches A Case

It’s rare to see an artist cover a song from another artist that hasn’t officially been released yet, but that appears to be just what Mary J. Blige has done. The singer has covered Ciara’s Supernatural, a single rumored to be on her upcoming CD, Fantasy Ride. Mary of course brought the soul with her version, which you can listen to here and for those who haven’t heard Ciara’s version yet, you can take check it out here.

Next up we have a leaked track from Beyonce, but no word yet whether it is old material or something that may appear on her upcoming album, which is slated for a winter 2008 release. The never before heard single is called “Case” and with reports of the singer going for a more Euro-Pop sound, it’s hard to believe this track would be included on such an album.

Case, which you can listen to here sounds like something that may have been a potential single for B’ Day- very Ring The Alarm-ish.

FYI: Take this Beyonce track with a grain of salt, as some are saying it may not even be her.

The song isn’t that good so neither versions really spark my interest.

Supernatural sounds like a Mya song from her “fear of flying” album. Can’t recall the title. Not a bad song, but since I always think of ciara dance skills I tend to like hr fast songs. That ‘Case’ song sounds nothing like Beyonce to me, at all. I would have to say that it isn’t her. And I don’t like that song, it’s sounds like an unoriginal and thrown together mess.

Yeah everyone is calling it a Beyonce song but it doesn’t really sound like her to me either. Mary’s cover of Supernatural is not only bland but in poor taste. Why is she covering a song that is suppose to be on Ciara’s album? Did she get the song first or was it offered to her too?

OK, that’s not Beyonce. The woman singing it sounds similar to Bey, and if Bey records this song it will be a hit. I like it.

I love Mary J. but I like Ciara’s version better. The song sounds more sensual with a light an airy voice.

Ciara brings that sex appeal to everything she write, Lil Mo did promise and it not the same, Tweet did my dear and it never got release. Ciara voice is anything but airy. Its beautiful and sexy and her speaking in the begining is pure fire! Maybe Mary version has to grow on me.

I like both Mary and Ciara’s versions. You know back in the Motown days, you had two and three artist cover the same song, but they sounded completely different. For instance, Gladys Knight and Marvin Gaye both recorded ” I Heard It Through the Grapevine.”

The other song does sound like Beyonce to me anyway. It definitely sounds like another version of “Ring the Alarm.”

I actually like the way Mary sounds singing that song. She did a good job bringing the soul.

And yes, that last song sounds EXACTLY like Beyonce’s voice. Has her high and low ranges. If it isn’t Bey, then that person deserves to have a record contract of their own because she can sing. Still, I like the song. It would have fit nicely between Suga Mama & Ring the Alarm because I swear it sounds like it was on the album but might have been removed at the last second.

“Supernatural” is a nice song, but I liked Mary’s version better. Although I wish she didn’t sing it in a high pitched voice.

The song “Case”, that is not Beyonce. I would believe it being Solange trying out a song like “Ring the Alarm”.

Still gotta peep that Mary/Ciara but I just had to make sure I wasn’t the only on thinking that it isn’t Bey on that track….

I love me some Mary, but she sounds horrible on that song imo. It was made to fit Ciara’s voice and she brings a soft sexiness to the song that Mary doesn’t. When I listen to Ciara’s version I feel relaxed and smooth I just don’t get that from Mary.

i really liked both versions of supernatural. mary’s version sounds like…..well it’s awesome to me, sounds like something she could have done a while back. but if mary released that i’d get with it. ciara’s version is nice too. i can only think to call it pretty. her voice sounds nice on the instrumental. plus i really like the instrumental. but yeah ciara sounds great too.

as for the beyonce joint, to be honest it sounds like her alot….but then again it doesn’t. i think it might be solonge. sincerely i do think it’s solonge. i like it though…..the beat…….is good. heck for all we know it might be solonge and beyonce doing a joint together. they used that “where my soldiers is at” thing from the victory joint by puffy, biggie and busta.

oh and if anyone feels like can ya’ll tell me what solonge’s “i decided” song is about and explain the video to me. i mean i know what the song is about but what was her reason for having the time travel theme again?

    peace and mo’ hair grease.
    let the madness cease
    peace.

That is not Beyonce on that song. Someone sent me that song earlier this summer. It’s an up and coming artist.

I like Ciara’s version of Supernatural better. Case sounds like a regular song fit for clubs and radio play, I’m not sure if it’s Beyonce or not though.

Mary’s was better.hands down.&& that probably was just a rough draft.
Imagine if she edit the song-making it more polished.
And the beat is definately a MJB beat?????
