Singer Mary J. Blige recently discovered the downside of interacting with fans the public on Twitter. Responding to negative comments directed at her, the singer angrily shot back by stating that “being a hater causes cancer”. This of course spread throughout the Twitter world like wildfire and Mary quickly found herself having to aplogize… profusely.

i dnt understand people who follow celebrities they dispise,thats downright cruel and insane,even though i feel thez a huge difference between constructive critism and hating,i dnt support people who attack people on their personal sites or twitters that is a place for their true fans,if we feel like bashing people lets keep that energy on gossip blogs coz thats where thoz kinda emotions are starred….when a person attacks the core of a human being with dark emotions then thats hating and it causes cancer,so Marry is correct and is so humble for apologising …..i believe cancer is a 90% emotional disease we have learned from society or inherited from our lineage without conscious knowlegde…thats my belief and no one has to subscribe to it.
Mary j was right , all that anger and hate that some people carry around can cause many types of illnesses, including cancer.
Mary did mistake, she did apologize. She deserves to be forgiven. Unlike haters, they definitely not have cancer because of being a hater, but at the end of the day, hating someone doesn’t pay them any happiness.
For Mary, apologizing after making mistake is such a brave act. I love you.
Hating probably does cause cancer, for all we know. Lord knows nothing good comes of it! Go ‘head Mary and do your thing, your fans will love you all the more for it.
Hating and having deep disregard 4 human life can manifest itself into a real illness. Plus i don’t see what the big deal is. She never said she wished cancer of any sort on these people, it was just a snappy comeback that someone else has probably already said but isn’t subject 2 idiotic public ridicule.

Come one now. Mary is too old for that mess. As long as she been in the industry that kind of stuff shouldn’t bother her. Her cancer comment wasn’t funny, how did she think of something so ignorant? Why does she feel the need to adrees “haters”? All of that stuff is played out. I guess these non singing new chicks got her a little insecure.

kids are beautiful and fragile but rarely innocent,what kind of an innocent creature throws tantrums and manipulates everyone,those little beautiful souls are wiser than you think,they have emotions too you know and they can inherit toxic emotions from their parents or past lives,these little innocent angels can pull your hair and scratch your face,kids can be cruel ask the 5yr.o. huge kid who always bullied me in pre-school.
i love twittering,i twitter with my friends and family who are working and studying in differents parts of the world,i enjoy knowing what they are doing and keep them updated with my life it makes everything easier…i follow,news updates,charities,clients and celebrities that i like and i have a fabulous life and twitter has made my life a lot easier…if its crap to you thats okay it is crap then and i respect your opinion…this my own opinion dnt hate on it coz it might result to you know…

Lil’ unusual but i’m pretty lol on board very much so with TruthTeller. Criticism isn’t always positive. Serious questions is she confusing criticism which some people take very badly? Mary caught realized she shouldn’t have said that. She apologized, and I forgive her, but what I don’t get is why she was on that subject. I mean I know we all get insecure, but Mary J. I hate hypocrites with a passion, how many people on here destroyed beyonce when she made the “latina” comment? How many people still hold it against her to this day?

I agree. Like she catch Kendu on stiff watching Rihanna or something. That is pathetic, she was doing just fine, she was on a level all her own, she has a well deserved title, it just makes no sense for her to stoop to the level of these people who’s on their last of their 15 minutes.
Mary is in such a special place in her life right now. Haters want to bring her down. Perhaps she was trying to say that hating will spead like an incurable cancer. Which I believe the term hate can spread just that fast. Everyone is entitled to their opinion however; Mary has come a long way and she is in a good place in her life. So if you dont like her, her music or anything else about her, just stop listening to her music, and stop following her on twitter!!!
