MARY J BLIGE PLANS WORLD TOUR Mary J. Blige To Hit The Road This Fall The Queen of Hip Hop Soul isn’t letting the lukewarm response to her last album keep her from giving her fans what they want. Rather than hiding out until her next record is completed, Mary J. Blige has instead decided to stage a world tour and take newcomer Jazmine Sullivan along for the ride. Mary announced her plans yesterday when she appeared live on 106 & Park to promote her FFAWN Organization. Blige even brought out Sullivan to join her, who just so happened to also release her “Holding You Down” video, which features a sample of Mary’s 1994 hit “Be Happy.” Mary will kick off her tour October 2nd and says she plans to release new music in early 2011. Mary has been tweeting about her marathon sessions with producer Swizz Beatz lately and says the music they are making together will be “epic.” Mary also let her fans know that the recent spate of new songs leaking to internet featuring her are nothing more than old “throw-away” songs and will not be featured on her new album.

I didn’t like the last 2 albums, but she’ll bounce back. I could feel it!!!!!!

  2. Her last album had a few decent songs but it is my least favorite album from her. It wasn’t an album I could play straight through like all her others.

  3. Mary can do that because she has such an awesome catalogue of music…most artists with longetivity will have a miss or two…but, when you really put work into your craft…you’re not easily forgotten…her mini-concert at the last BET Honors demonstrated that Mary will always be able to tour…her collaborations…all the too many to name videos…yeah, Mary’s got it like that…I thought her latest work was different, but some of her best…it was laid back…she’s not tormented and in pain like she was through most of her career…but, even in happier times Mary J. Blige is an artist’s artist…her raw and emotional vocals and true to life singing is what we’ve come to love and a lot of our legendary singing divas agree…Aretha, Chaka or Anita Baker adore Mary…her vocals have greatly improved…she’s indeed a legend…hip hop rn’b with an arsenal of music…so we can expect to see Mary like we see Chaka and Aretha…Jazmine Sullivan is a great addition to the tour…a hot concert for sure!

  4. I agree @NIKKI and @CYNTHINIA

  5. Mary’s latest album sold over 900,000 thousand copies this is far from lukewarm… This is only US sales. Mariah last album was considered lukewarm sales…

  6. Isn’t she supposed to be going to Howard University in hopes of graduating in the spring of 2014?
