Mary J. Blige Preps New Album

Singer Mary J. Blige is looking to the past in order to find inspiration for her new album. Seventeen years after she released her groundbreaking “My Life” album, Mary says she plans to release its sequel “My Life ||: The Journey Continues,” on September 20th.

The undisputed Queen of Hip-Hop Soul tenth album will feature production from Ne-Yo, Swizz Beatz, Raphael Saadiq and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. The album’s first single ‘Someone to Love Me (Naked),’ has been released to Itunes and features Mary’s longtime friend/collaborator/producer Diddy and pint size rapper Lil Wayne.

Mary says her new album has been in the works since August 2010 and calls it a reflection of where she is in her life right now.

The video for the first single was also released yesterday- you can check it out below.

  1. I was jammin before Mary even opened her mouth. I love the beat. The song has a true message in it. I didn’t care for Lil Wayne’s part with all of the cursing, but I will buy the edited version of the album. I love the part when she says “my rise my fall enemies wanna see me crawl”..Go hed MJB..this straight fire

  2. Why is the first single coming out so early? Is this even the first official single? I think this was on the Dirty Money album first. I hope Mary comes out with something totally original. This song is ok. I felt it had to much rapping though. We don’t need Diddy and Lil Wayne.

  3. This is just the buzz single people thats why the album comes out in September
