The Queen of Hip Hop Soul isn’t set to launch her “Melodies” line of sunglasses until October; however promotion is already well underway. Besides giving out free pairs to celebrity pals like Kim Kardashian, and then having her tweet about, Mary is also releasing promo shots, and most recently, a price list.
Mary says her “Melodies” aim to give ladies a refuge to “hide behind” while still being “fashion forward and comfortable.” All that comfort however comes with a price and pretty hefty one if you ask me. “Melodies” will range in price from $165.000 all the way up to $225.00.
I’m all for Mary branching out and expanding her empire- however $166 for a pair of sunglasses is a little steep.
What say you guys? Would you buy a pair of shades for more than $100. Personally, I wouldn’t but a pair for more than $20.
$25 is the most I have ever spent for a pair. i lose too many to spend more on them. But more power to her. I guess $100 shades to MJB are like $25 to me. So go girl.
I gonna have to say no on that one. I loose and break shades way too easily to spend more than $15.00 on a pair. And I can’t say that I especially like the design. I can so You Go Girl to MJB – get your business on ladie!

The promo photo is “HOT” MJB is gettin’ it in looks like the 97′ 98′ Mary right here….but the most I spent on some sunglasses were about $20 to $25 dollars so I don’t know about the price MJB :noway: I’ll pass
I love the promo shots – FIERCE. I know that I will not be buying sunglasses at that price but I know some ladies will – celebrities.
:noway: Helllll NO!!! I’d be tight pressed to drop $20 on a pair. I would never pay over 20 bucks on an accessory unless I valued it as such (meaning I valued 200 bucks as 20 bucks)

also, I feel that whole shades to hide behind, but isn’t that the problem with this world??? People are too content with hiding behind things and fail to show up for life and hold themselves and their neighbor accountable?? Isn’t that why we’re in this mess (economic and social crisis) because while people were busy “hiding” others were running amok??? Not blaming Mary obviously but not feeling the marketing of using shades to “hide behind”. Seems so cowardly and weak… But on the other hand the beauty of shades for me has always been to check out guys on the low so I can dig it… I guess…
you paying for the frames..lens are the same as on a 10 to $25 dollar ones..We dont teach our kids about saving or investing, we teach them about shopping..Trying to impress people we dont even know..
