Like Kelly Rowland, singer Mary J. Blige is looking to expand her acting portfolio. The nine-time Grammy award winner is reportedly in talks to star in the Warner Brothers adaptation of the Broadway play “Rock of Ages,” a musical that features 80s hits from artists such as Journey, Pat Benatar and Bon Jovi.
Variety magazine confirmed that Blige is up for the part of Justice, the sassy owner of a strip joint called the Venus Club. Other high profile names attached to the film include country-pop singer Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise.
Should Mary land the role, this will be her third film. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul had previously starred in the 2001 film Prison Song and most recently, Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad All By Myself.”
