Mary J. Pens New Tune

According to the Associated Press, singer Mary J. Blige is set to pen a new tune for “The Invisible War,” a film presently showing at the Sundance Film Festival that deals with rape in the U.S. military.

Mary was at Sundance last week where she helped premiere the film. Her song “Need Someone” can be heard during the closing credits; however producer Amy Ziering said Mary will also contribute an original song to the film’s score as well.

Mary was recently nominated in the “Best Song” category at the 2012 Golden Globes, but lost out to 80’s pop icon Madonna.

The 41-year old singer clearly isn’t letting the loss dampen her spirits, as she is also slated to pen original tunes for the upcoming Nina Simone biopic, which she will be starring in.
