If it seems like you have been hearing about this project forever it is because you have. The album’s lead-off single “Gone and Never Coming Back” was released back in 2010. Unfortunately, after it failed to live up to label expectations, SRC Records decided to shelve the entire album indefinitely.
It was only after the second single, “4am” was released, did Melanie finally inform her fans that “The MF Life” would indeed finally see the light of day.
Now with an official release date of March 27th, Melanie says she is ready to hit the road and fully support her new project. Hopefully the public will do the same.

I don’t know if people will, I really hope so!!! But, this business is more geared toward personalities and gimmicks, great work means absolutely nothing. But, I think Melanie will be around because she is becoming a industry “go-to” person for smaller, but nice gigs, features, etc…Melanie and Ledisi are two of the newest and best!!! I can watch her Soul Train Music Awards Performance, endlessly…I wish it had been the Grammys, but oh, well.
I look forward to buying her new work!!!
CYNTHINIA, you said it all. A producer whose name I cannot remember right now said the same thing last year. Looks and especially talent have taken a back seat to gimmicks and people better suited to model than sing.
Ladies, I agree with both of you. However, MF will be successful in her own right b/c she is truly talented and gifted! Ledisi is as well, that girl can BLOW!!!!!!!!
I’m a huge fan of both and I wish them well in their endeavors. I will definitely support the album from MF. Wishing her the best with this project!!!!!!
