Mellie, What’s Good?

OLITZI’m sorry, I just couldn’t help myself. This newly released Olitz poster from season five of Scandal was just begging for a caption.

I continue to be semi jealous of Scandal fans, because even though it’s taken nearly five years for Olitz to become canon, at least you guys have writers who are willing to acknowledge that your ship is the backbone of the show.

While you guys will be basking in the glow of Olivia and Fitz’s love this season, we poor Sleepy Hollow fans will more than likely be forced to contend with a sexed-up, thigh-high boots wearing version of Betsy Ross.

ABC’s official synopsis for their season five opener is very Olitz friendly, and reads: “Olivia and Fitz are back together again and enjoying every scandalous moment together while Cyrus, Mellie, and Huck are all still dealing with the aftermath of helping Command. Meanwhile, when a visit from the Queen of Caldonia and her family turns into a tragedy, Olivia is hired to make sure the Royal family’s private life stays private.”

Scandal returns September 24 and is part of ABC’s unstoppable TGIT (Thank God it’s Thursday) line-up, which includes sophomore drama How to Get Away with Murder and network staple Grey’s Anatomy.

  1. While I enjoy Scandal from time to time, I want a die hard fan to explain to me why it’s okay for Olivia to sleep with Mellie’s husband.

Fitz is married and it doesn’t matter what the state of his marriage is Olivia has no right to insert herself.

I’m not attacking shippers. I just wanna know what’s inside their minds

  2. There is no justifiable excuse for Olivia sleeping with Fitz. I haven’t seen every episode, but I think the two of them were essentially horny and hopped into bed the first time behind Mellie’s back. Olivia was always scandalous and so was Fitz who I believe had an affair with an intern or something like that. I think the show may have at some point painted Mellie as a bad wife and that’s why fans are able to justify to themselves these two having a relationship. Point blank, if Mellie didn’t cheat first, Fitz is a dirty dog and so is Olivia.

  3. I am a fan but I don’t like that story line because I don’t like the fact that as a highly educated woman who is black is being a mistress to anyone. I actually hate the scenes when they are cheating, but the overall show is good and enjoyable to watch.
