Michelle Williams In Alo Magazine

Michelle Williams ALO Magazine’s Fall 2006 Cover is graced by Award Winning Artist Michelle Williams, unveiling herself as an astonishing new solo artist. Formerly a third of the biggest selling girl group in the history of the world, Destiny’s Child, Michelle has won countless awards including Grammy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Soul Train Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Brit Awards, Mobo Awards, Radio Disney Music awards, Radio Music Awards, and the list goes on.

In the interview Michelle spoke candidly about her first steps alone on her new solo R&B record, her plans to take the acting world by storm, and got real honest about the real Michelle. After speaking about every topic from her experience as a part of the girl group Destiny’s Child to her forays into Broadway, Michelle touched down on how she believes music effects the world we live in and our understanding of one another. She said, ‘I think music helps in a lot of ways, it’s universal and should bridge gaps. It’s a beautiful world we live in. Since I moved to LA, you see so many different people and cultures in one city and people seem to be getting along. I think we need to put our egos aside. No race, no religion, no community, and no sex is greater.’ These are truly remarkable words, spoken by a remarkable woman.

  1. You mean to tell me somebody actually gave Michelle some play 😆
Seriously though, she does look pretty on the cover even if I have never heard of this magazine before:???:

  2. I remember hearing Michelle say she was gonna do soul/r&b music next. This market is pretty full with Beyonce, Ciara, Mary and others.Michelle is really gonna have to come with something crazy and original to break into this market. As it is she is considered the unimportant member of DC so she will have to try twice as hard as others.I wish her luck though cause she seems like a sweetheart and deserves some success outside of DC.

  3.
I wish her luck though cause she seems like a sweetheart and deserves some success outside of DC.
You know damn well Mathew ain’t gonna allow anybody to have success outside of Destiny’s Child besides Beyonce.Mathew steered both Michelle and Kelly into markets neither one of them wanted to be involved in and made sure Beyonce stayed in the market that had the most fans and money to be made.Michelle and Kelly both said in interviews that Mathew pushed them into Alternative (Kelly) and Gospel (Michelle)music.Michelle flat out said Gospel wasn’t her thing but that Mathew wanted her to do it.Why would he do that? Why not let Michelle do her type of music? I’m not insinuating for a moment that Michelle or Kelly would pose a threat to Beyonce, only that Mathew wanted to make sure by any means necessary that they didn’t.

  4. I don’t know about the rest of you all but I look forward to seeing what Michelle has to offer the world of R and B music. We don’t know who Michelle is or what her sound is because she has been the puppet of Destiny’s Child for so long.I really want to here what the sistah has to say. It’s about time Michelle got a chance to shine on her own.

  5. I have never paied an ounce of attention to Michelle and I feel kinda bad about that now.Poor thing just always seemed like she was just thrown in the mix.Hopefully her new album will put her on the map in some kind of way.I would love to see her on the stage solo doing her thang

  6. I get tired of the Michelle bashing..Ive seen her on many gospel shows..performing her love of God…She is certainly blessed and will be blessed beyound the haters…God Bless her singing her soul out to the Lord..
