Minority Report Ratings for it’s Pilot Episode Were Soft
Fox’s new sci-fi drama Minority Report got off to a pretty shaky start last night. According to TV by the Numbers, the show’s pilot episode drew a disappointing 3.1 million viewers, and an even more disappointing 1.1 demo within the advertiser coveted 18-49 age group.
It should be noted that the show’s pilot episode leaked almost a month ago. I can’t say whether that had an adverse affect on the show’s premiere episode, but it definitely could have.
The sad part, is that those who saw the leak said it was vastly different than the episode they saw last night. I actually got to watch a sanctioned copy Fox made available to the press, and that one was different than the leak and the episode that aired last night.
Hopefully the show will get a boost when DVR numbers are reported on Thursday. I enjoyed Minority Report and thought Meagan Good and Stark Sands made an awesome duo. The show appeared to be a hit with fans on social media, as it was still trending on Twitter six hours after it aired.
Tumblr fans also appeared to like the show, and fanart of Meagan has already popped up. Let’s hope Fox is in a somewhat accommodating mood and allows Minority Report to at least finish out its season.
