JANET JACKSON GETS HER OWN BLACKGLAMA LINE OF FURS 148x250 Miss Jackson Gets Her Own Fur Line

Following Blackglama’s most successful “What Becomes a Legend Most?” ad campaign to date, featuring Janet Jackson, the brand announced this morning the launch of the Janet Jackson Blackglama collection. The line of luxe fur outerwear and accessories will debut in stores in November.

“The art of fashion is one of my great passions,” states Janet Jackson. “I’ve worked for years to bring a collection into the world. Partnering with Blackglama is very exciting.”

The collection is comprised of 15 pieces ranging from coats, jackets, vests, scarves, gloves and other accessories. All contain both classic and contemporary elements and utilize Blackglama mink in conjunction with other materials such as leather.

“When we began preparation for the second Blackglama campaign, Janet became very involved in the design process. The result was an amazing collection of Blackglama garments and accessories that reflect Janet’s tremendous sense of style and fashion,” said Mike McCrea, VP of Marketing for Blackglama. “This is one of the most visually appealing and innovative Blackglama collections I have seen.”

The line is priced for the luxury market and will retail in the Fur Salon at select Saks Fifth Avenue and the Maximilian Fur Salon at select Bloomingdales.

Editors Note: What happened to Janet’s intimate apparel line, Pleasure Principle, announced to the world over three years?

When will Janet stop playing with her fans emotions and get back in the studio? Fur lines and Tyler Perry movies won’t keep her stanbase satisfied for too much longer.

  1. I absolutely love Janet- but is this range of REAL fur? Each to their own, but I am genuinely surprised and shocked that celebrities would endorse real fur.

  2. Good for her. PETA is not a governmental agency nor ordained by God. If you like fur and want to wear it, do your thing. Just make certain its a company that obtains the fur in a humane way. Animals were made for our service and comfort not the other way around.

  3. Yes PREET, it is real fur.

  4. I would buy from her intimates line. And yes, she needs to do another “Velvet Rope” *cough* I mean, another record *cough* LOL

  5. worried about animals? what about the Children of the world that are being forced to work in sweat shops, forced into sex trade industries, living in foster homes being abused by their foster parents, or other kids, education system in this country sucks. I love animals , but the human condition is what we need to focus on in this world.

  6. I cant wait to see what she comes up with. Janet has a wonderful imagination and an edgy sense of style. Should be VERY interesting.

  7. Brown Sista,
I see 2012/2013 for the album. Janet is waiting like Sade and Maxwell did it. Slow build up. I think if she writes and gets with producers who respect her and not follows a trend she will create her classic comeback. In the studio she has to get her mojo back and realize she create the trail some of these new female artists are on now.

  8. Janet is a star. I LOVE her!

  9. I understand and respect the fact that PETA wants the proper treatment for animals. However years ago it was an acceptable norm for “caucasions” to acquire all types of fur coats, hats, and other accessories. I’m a movie buff and there are so many movies made in the 40′s, 50′s, 60′s and 70′s with all people wearing furs. I’m not sure when it became unacceptable to wear fur.
We we think about the caveman days, they had to wear fur as a means of clothing. I know thats a lil far back but I’m just trying to make a point.
Animals are killed and butchered everyday for our food supply and I’m sure that is not always done in a humane way.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think her line will be beautiful and I think if a person wants to wear their fur jacket, coat or accessory they should be allowed to do so without being harassed about it.

@BOHWE….I agree the WORLD’s focus should be on children being abused in all ways.

Finally, to each his own, if you dont want to wear fur dont purchase it.

  10. @The Weekend

    I agree.

And also since PETA did that racist ad a while ago comparing the plight of animals to Black people who were enslaved I have no use for them.

In fact, I might buy a fur myself.

  11. How incredibly vain and cruel of her. I applaud PETA , as I applaud all human AND animal activists who speak out for those who can not. BRAVO PETA , BRAVO PEOPLE WHO CARE!!!! ABOUT EACH OTHER, AND FOR THE WELFARE OF CHILDREN, ABUSED HUMANS AND ABUSED ANIMALS. WE ARE ON THIS PLANET TO LOVE, NOT TO FLAUNT OUR SEXUALITY, …BUT THEN YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT.

  12. Didn’t someone kill her brother the same way she is killing the animals. Huh… I guess she doesn’t care about her brother either. I will never buy anything of yours EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
