Monica’s ‘New Life’ Album Debut

Monica was on the scene last night for J&R Music and Computer World’s “Girls Night Out” event, where she signed copies of her new album “New Life.”

According to Hits Daily Double, Monica’s new project will debut inside the top ten on next week’s album chart, with sales of around 65k.

This number is a bit lower than the 184k her “Still Standing” CD moved when it was released back in 2010.

Still, ‘Miss Thang’ and her “It All Belongs to Me” partner, Brandy, have announced tentative plans to tour together later this year in support of both their albums.

Brandy’s album is expected later this year and is slated to feature production from Red One, Rodney Jerkins and Timbaland.

  1. I congratulate Monica’s continued career as a recording artist but the new album is really boring. Only 4-5 of the songs are what I would consider really good – “Daddy’s Good Girl,” “Mistake,” “Anything To Find You,” and maybe a couple others. She needs to find a way to innovate her sound while staying true to herself as a performer. If that sounds hypocritical, just think of artists/bands like Santana, Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, and yes Rihanna.

  2. She looks so different… but in a good way! Beautiful girl.

  3. It’s a good CD. It was my FIRST Monica CD that I ever bought. She has a great voice and the CD brought me back to a time when R & B was real. Good luck Monica.

  4. Love the new cd. You can just let the record play. I suggest everyone buy the deluxe edition because you will be missing out on songs like Breathe, In 3D, Catch Me, and Anthing To Find You.

  5. Not a fan of this new album at all, She could of come better but she looks and sounds great.

  6. Im a huge Monica fan have all of her albums but this last one I dnt plan on getting I dnt like nun of the so songs on it. But still got much love for mo mo she can sang!
