Stacey Dash in “Dysfunctional Friends”

Since leaving her hit VH1 series ‘Single Ladies’ earlier this year, actress Stacey Dash has not just been sitting around twiddling her thumbs. No. Instead, the 45-year old actress kept it moving, signing on to do several independent films, including the one we have featured below, ‘Dysfunctional Friends.’

Directed by Corey Grant and billed as a black version of The Big Chill, the film revolves around 10 friends who reunite for a funeral after having not spoken for almost a decade.

The film stars every black person in Hollywood, including Meagan Good, Tatyana Ali, Reagan Gomez Preston, Essence Atkins, Keith Robinson, Erica Hubbard, Wesley Jonathan, Hosea Chanchez and anybody else you can think of.

Check out a recently released clip below and look for the film to hit movie theaters on February 3rd.

  1. personally, i’m sick of the token white/non-black chic in black media (106 & Park, Single Ladies, The Game, etc.). and why is the token always a woman and never a male? that’s just one less employed sista. it just sends the message that black entertainment can’t sell unless “others” are included. i’m sick of the black woman being marginalized in her own community.

  2. black hollywood has changed so much. “back in the day” this cast would have been nia long, sanaa lathan, gabrielle union, morris chestnut, shemar moore, taye diggs, etc. you get the pic. miss those days. =)

  3. oh wow I thought that was Maia Campbell with contacts on- not to hijack this post, but I wonder if she’s okay now.
