I have to agree with you 100%. Were it not for her belly she might have looked perfect.

The ladies look good. I think Devin and Val are being way too hard on Megana Good. Its not that much of a pooch and how skinny do u expect people to be??? i think she looks fab :booty:

Everyone looks great. Congrats to Janet on the win. She did an awful lot of crying and worrying in her role as Patricia. I’m sorry ya’ll, I just wasn’t bowled over by Why Did I Get Married. But everyone looks awesome!

why does the naacp continue to nominate and award hispanic actors? they have their own award show and they don’t nominate and award afican americans. the image awards i thought were to honor acheivements by african americans. by the way, i was happy when hill harper won and brought his mother on stage.

Sanaa looks STUNNING! But that blue is my favorite color, so I may be a little biased. :-D

And iris, I think the Image Awards and the NAACP are meant for all “COLORED” people. So I took that to mean minorities period. Minorities are rarely recognized for our efforts in TV and film, so hey, I say Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, all of em! Let’s just  celebrate e’erbody!!

I think they all look great. I just don’t like Golden Brooks’ dress. I also like Tyler Perry, but his show and the actors on that sitcom are not worthy of an award just yet. I watch his show just to support black sitcoms, but I don’t really like it to be honest with you. I did like Why Did I Get Married though.

    Best Dressed goes to:
    Tracee Ellis Ross/ Sanaa Lathan

    Worst Dressed:
    Golden Brooks

    Inappropriately Dressed:
Meagan Good (She still looks pretty though, and she doesn’t have a belly pooch worth complaining about)

    Most Overrated Show:
House of Payne (Sorry Tyler, I still love you, but that show sucks man.)

:dance1: I AM SO GLAD THAT JANET JACKSON WON, SHE DESERVES TO WIN SOMETHING TO LET WHITE AMERICANS KNOW THAT NO MATTER WHAT MISTAKES OUR BLACK STARS MAKE, WE WILL FORGIVE THEM AND MOVE ON BECAUSE WHITE AMERICANS STILL HOLD A GRUDGE AGAINST JANET JACKSON BECAUSE OF THE STUPID “SB” THINKG. WE ARE PROUD OF YOU MISS JACKSON, AND LOOKS FORWARD TO BUYING YOUR ALBUM ON FEBRUARY 26, AND I WILL DEFINATELY BE AT YOUR 2008 TOUR!!!!

I would just like to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! to everyone that won an award, but I must say that reading the literature awards kind of made me feel bad because I own a couple of those books but have yet to read them.
I’m too wrapped up in the urban fiction novels.

The show was nice and I am glad that Jurnee won I can’t believe the Great Debators is not being recognized at the Academy Awards, what a shame…and I am also glad that Denzel Whitaker won even though I believe that Nate put on a better performance in his role…

I am really happy that Janet won but I thought that that award should have went to the woman I forgot her name but she carried the movie with all of her comedy….I thought she was excellent in the movie, Janet was good too but that woman outshined all of the ladies…and Jill Scott put on a hell of a performance herself…

I don’t like that dress on Meagan it doesn’t look good at all on her, she should have saved that for the BET Awards or something, it wasn’t classy for the NAACP awards…everyone else looked lovely…I am still mad at Aretha and her Diva pouting…

Congrats to Ruby Dee “I love her so much” and Congrats to Stevie too…

I think that Janet got the award because it is the NAACP “Image” award and her character portrayed a positive image. I think Tasha Smith was hilarious in the movie, but she was dysfunctional as hell and that is not the image the NAACP would want to promote. My husband and I refer to the NAACP awards as the “Super Bougie (Bourgiose) awards. Glad our happy smileys are back.

I was glad Janet won and to the person above who said this as well–I felt that it was black america’s way of saying “we choose who is “in” or “out” for us…not white america”.

    Vanessa Williams - simply beautiful

    Sanaa Lathan - stunning

Keshia Knight Pulliam’s shoes - too precious

Meagan Good - pretty in pink

    Jurnee Smollett - gorgeous dress

All of the winners were deserving except House of Payne. I watch that show faithfully but it isn’t outstanding when compared to Everybody Hates Chris, 30 Rock, Ugly Betty or Girlfriends. And even though LaVan Davis carries the show, providing more entertainment than the rest of the cast, Tyler Williams is much better in Everybody Hates Chris (as is Dule Hill, Donald Fasion & Reggie Hayes). Just my opinion.

I really don’t like that show, “House of Payne”. I support Tyler & the positive images he stands for but I can’t stomach that show, it’s tired and they don’t have enough different sets.

Supporting actress in a motion picture: Janet Jackson, “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?”- so happy for Janet. One of you said that Jill should have gotten the award. Don’t forget jill was the leading actress of the movie, Janet was supporting actress other wise that award would have went to Jill scott.

Why does Megan Goode need a prop (rose)? So predictable! She should have traded that in for a girdle.

Do’s: Janet, Vanessa, Tracee, Jurnee, Keesha and Yaya

    Don’t: Tichina and Megan

I think people tend to forget that Janet is a legend. She has captivated the industry for a long time. The whole SB invent was blown way out of proposition. She is a talented artist, who deserves so much. A lot of people are quick to write her off, but she has already made her statement in the industry. Congrats to you Janet!

    @ Iris

NAACP is the National Association for the Advancement of COLORED People. Hispanics are people of color. And by the way, I watched the ALMA Awards this year and they do recognize African Americans.

PEOPLE OF COLOR SHOULD STICK TOGETHER!!! :stop: the HATE!!!
