Naturi Naughton Wins Image Award for ‘Power’ Role

In Case You Missed It: Naturi Naughton Won Her First NAACP Award

Did you guys know Naturi Naughton won her first NAACP Image Award last week? I personally had no idea until I ran across photos earlier today on Wire Image. Naturi won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role of Tasha St. Patrick on the hit Starz drama Power. Her category was presented the day before the show’s live telecast at an Awards Dinner, which is probably why I missed it.

Naturi’s category was a tough one, so congrats to her for beating out such legends as CCH Pounder (NCI: New Orleans), Cicely Tyson (How to Get Away with Murder) and Lynn Whitfield (Greanleaf).

Natruri will reprise her role on Power when the series returns for a fourth season this summer. The show is Starz’s top-rated drama averaging just over 2 million viewers and a 1.0 demo- great numbers by pay TV standards.

  1. Congrats to her. I’ve only seen a few episodes or maybe the first season of Power. There’s great talent on that show.
