As the undulating waves silently tickled the shore, Cherish group member Neosha King appreciated the merciful coolness that the sudden overcast skies offered as a welcomed relief from the sweltering heat. For the Atlanta bride, it was a picture-perfect day to exchange vows with her beau of six years Jason Lawrence. And so on Saturday, May 3, at 6:30 PM, Neosha, 23 and Jason, 24, became husband and wife during a small, intimate beach ceremony in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Flanked by six bridesmaids, Neosha was a vision to behold in a white, plunge-neckline halter embroidered with her grandmother’s gold-tone, antique jewelry while Jason was equally handsome in a white three-piece suit, supported by his six groomsmen.”QWhen I saw her walk down the aisle it hit me that we were getting married,” says Jason, a design engineer. “We’d been in love for so long and on one accord that it always felt like we were married. She was so beautiful it simply reaffirmed that she was The One for me.”
If you were to ask the sultry songstress she’d tell you she knew when she met her beau six years ago that he was The One. “Jason and I both had come out of bad relationships and met when he visited his childhood friend, who was also my sister Farrah then-boyfriend,” explains Neosha. “From the beginning there was something special between us, but we took our relationship slow.”
And her husband admits that he felt their bond immediately as well. “We vibed, got to know one another and I decided to give her a chance,” says Jason jokingly. “No, seriously she’s a beautiful person and it was a blessing to fall in love with a woman who sharea the same values and goals I so.”
After the ceremony, a 100 guests boarded the privately chartered Indian River Queen cruise ship and feasted on a buffet-style dinner, which was served by a wait staff. For dessert everyone sated their sweet tooth with a three-tier, butter cream, picture-frame cake made by Artist Cake Work located in Cocoa Beach, which featured childhood images of the bride and groom.
As the evening came to an end, the newlyweds shared a tender kiss and embrace. The new Mrs. Lawrence basked in the glow of their love. “If the wedding was this great, then I can’t wait until after the wedding!”
