New Discipline Promo Shots From Janet Jackson
As the release date for Janet Jackson’s new “Discipline” CD gets closer and closer more and more promo shots from the CD begin to surface and above we have three new ones to share with you all. In the past I have not always been particularly fond of Janet’s promo shots but this era so far is shaping up quite nicely. Janet is looking beautiful and most of all natural in these new shots, which I believe were more than likely photographed by Mark Liddell, who also photographed Janet for Rolling Stone and Prestige Magazine.
Discipline is due to hit record store shelves on February 26th and Janet has a full promotional blitz lined up to see to it that she debuts at the top of the charts. Word has it Janet will appear on the March 2008 cover of Vibe Magazine and she is also scheduled to play G-A-Y in London. Other performances on Janet’s plate for the month of February include Jimmy Kimmel Live, Oprah, Ellen, Good Morning America and the GLAAD Media Awards where she will also be honored for her work over the years with gay make-up artists, hairstylists and dancers.

Horrible choices…together, they all look dated…and that’s the last thing she needs when trying to push an urban pop record. It seems that she’s trying to play on her past images…trying to convince of that this new project is like her classic stuff… But, from what I’ve heard so far…it isn’t…

You think it’s Urban Pop? I always thought Janet was straight pop….within the last few years she stepped into urban but I dont think people received it well. Truthfully when I first heard it, I thought it was just ok, but then when I gave it another listen…it started to sound like the classic get up and dance Janet… Well to each its own I guess.

I like Janet’s pictures. They look nice. I agree the Damita Jo era poics were nice as well. These look like Janet whereas the 20 Y0 images were airbrushed to death and made Janet’s nose look like Michael’s. Janet looks better au natural anyway and much younger minus the face paint.
For those worried about Janet’s promotion, she will kick start her promo tour in Febraury and I think fans will be happy. I wish her the best and love Feedback, can’t wait to see her perform it live.

Janet Jackson looks great. But it just seems like she is still not getting much love from the media with her new project. Yet Britney Spears screws up everyday and they are routing for her to have a major comeback. I just wonder sometimes.
If Britney Spears were the one who had that wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl, would she have received the same treatment and backlash as Janet Jackson.

I absolutely love the new photos, my girl looks gorgeous as always, and speaking as a very loyal fan for years…I am not concerned w/numbers or how much her project sells, Janet has been and done what all of the other younger artist are doing now, she has nothing else to prove to anyone, she’s accomplished what the younger female artist are in the midst of accomplishing…it’s all about the music for me, and judging by the first single, the Janet of Old that I love is back…the creative, soulful, and funky Janet. Why do people see it as she is competing. Why can’t she make an ablum? So is madonna and other doing the same thing as competing? Why do us with African Artist always want to make thiings a competition? As long as the ablum do good and she goes on tour that all that matter and honestly I think Janet does not care about the awards just want to be able to do what she does. She been thru alot with her last 2 CD’s and Janet is a very strong person she does let u see she is hurting in the inside but I think she wants freedom to be her.

You are the first person I heard say anything like this^^^^. To each its own people is loving the pictures this era better than 20y.o era. Just that promotion wise.

Janet does not have to compete with these copy cats out here. She was an original and still is. If you look at the dance moves of all of these new female artist they are her moves. Hm, They’re alright to me. I like the first two the most, especially the one with the red. As for her song, I like it but I haven’t heard it on the radio at all in my area. Not once. Maybe it’s because we have few stations worth anything anyway and I tend to focus on the ones that play all a variety of new mainstream music. Anyway, I agree that Janet doesn’t have to really focus on other artists out there and competing with them. She’s done it all now, and now I suppose she’s just doing her thing. She’s proven herself and needs to no longer.

A Mary J. Blige fan attempting to talk ish about Janet is funny. If Janet never has another hit record she will still have sold millions of more records than Mary and influenced an entire generation of hip-hop, pop and r n’ b females. Mary isn’t even on Beyonce’s level so trying to up her to Janet’s level is a joke. And please don’t tell us how about Mary’s last 2 albums sold well at Christmas for the first week because that is all you have to cling to,FIRST WEEK SALES. Damita Jo, the brilliant album Janet made back in 2004, that had production from Jimmy and Terry, Babyface and Kanye West, sold 487,000 in it’s first week of sucess and two weeks ago it was certified platinum. 20 Y.0 sold 296,000 in it’s first week and again, none of the singles were played on most Black stations or not at all on pop stations. Call On Me still went #1 on the R&B and Dance charts. That CD has been certified gold, also with no tour and no promotion. I wrote all that to say that Janet Jackson is no fly by night chick. She still has a huge fan base and is fighting her way back from a racist system that punished her for what happened at the SB but uplifted Justin Timberlake who even has a SB commercial airing this year.
Niggas always trying to knock down a star to make their low level selves feel better. Janet is Janet and she cannot and will not be stopped. She is our Black Gold, her and Michael. So the haters and the evil thinkers who think they will be sitting back laughing at another Janet failure need just think again.
The Janet publicity machine will own February and the tour Janet says is finished and will kick off in the summer. So just you wait, Janet will get the last laugh and haha and 20 YO selling more in the first week than albums with huge singles. You all know who I’m talking about too.

What work? People always say she has had mad work done. The only Work I see is her nose. All of the jacksons have those high cheek bones, ever since they were littel. I don’t believe Janet has breast implants. She said she likes push up bras, and if you saw the pictures that some one took of her sunbathing, her breast look pretty real to me. And that whole taking ribs out was a lie…do you really think Janet would remove ribs, just to appear to have a smaller waist? With all of the mid-drifts Janet has been wearing for years, we would have been seen scars. Some of the thing they pin on people are just straight speculation.

Why do we always have to pit black women against each other. We have these two great icons that have survived in a world that does not have a history of treating sisters right especially if the sister is not extremely light. It is okay to say that they are both great entertainers and have their own styles. To say the about Mary is just mean. We need to learn how to lift one another up and maybe we can have more than just one black woman being played on the radio all day. Which has forced me to just stop listening to the radio for the most part.
I think Mary and Janet are great and I think that it is okay for them to co-exist. We don’t have tear one down to lift the other up because they are both phenomnal women. :mrgreen:

:dance: I’ve been a fan of the entire Jackson family since I was a little girl, and I remember Janet as far back as when she began portraying Mae West on the television show with her brothers back in the 70’s. I thought she was a pretty girl then and to date she’s absolutely beautiful. Since I’m only a year older than Janet, I grew up listening at every album that she’s ever made. If I had to use a few words to describe her now it would be “Blessed and Phenomenal”. As someone else has stated, the young artists today is trying to accomplish what Janet has already accomplished. No need to prove herself anymore. I hope that she will someday consider coming to Tallahassee, Florida to do a concert….I’m truly one of her biggest fans…Hope to someday meet and greet with her…..Forever a loyal fan indeed…..Can’t wait for the new album…. :dance1:
