New Music: Soldier Girl by Olivia

Having secured herself the million dollar recording contract she had been searching for, “Love & Hip-Hop” co-star, Olivia Longott, is officially back to concentrating on making music.

The struggling R&B singer has just released “Soldier Girl,” the follow-up to her moderately successful single “Walk Away,” released earlier this year.

With a bit of assistance from Movado, Olivia returns to her island roots in the reggae tinged track, which finds the singer doing what R&B chicks do: reflecting on love gone wrong.

As hard as it is to believe, Olivia’s last album was released back in 2001… just over a decade ago. Since then, the 30-year old Jamaican native has been trying to make a comeback- signing deals with several labels, including 50 Cent’s G-Unit.

Recently signed to Wonda Music, Olivia said via Twitter she is still putting the finishing touches on her sophomore project and hopes to have it released sometime this year.

  1. Did you mean to write Mavado feat Olivia? lol…..this is his song sorry. Its nice though but Olivia does not stand out on it….

  2. yes KOKO this is definately Mavado’s song with her covering it… and it doesn’t even sound like they went in the studio together to record this because comparing the original version she really just added her voice to it..hmmmm

  3. She definitely has a beautiful voice. Much luck with your upcoming project.
