Nia Long Lands Recurring Role on Netflix Comedy ‘Dear White People’
Nia Long is set to join Netflix’s upcoming comedy Dear White People. The former Uncle Buck star will have a recurring role playing the part of African-American studies professor Neika Hobbs. Dear White People is based on the 2014 Sundance film of the same name and will be produced by television veteran Yvette Lee Bowser.
Netflix put in a 10-episode order for the show, which is expected to start filming next month and debut in the spring of 2017. Dear White People will reportedly pick up where the film left off and has so far cast Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, and Logan Browning in starring roles.
As for Nia, fans can catch her next in the upcoming Lifetime remake of Beaches co-staring former Glee actress/singer Idina Menzel.
