Nia Long Returns to TV

Actress Nia Long is coming to WeTV. But unlike the channel’s other women of color, Nia will not be starring in a reality series, but rather a newly announced drama series.

Via press release, Nia will be starring in “The Divide,” an original drama set to make its debut in early 2014.

The original scripted series is the brainchild of Emmy/Oscar nominated writer Richard LaGravenese and Scandal star Tony Goldwyn.

Nia has been cast in the role of Billie Page, the hard charging wife of District Attorney Adam Paige, played by talented character actor Damon Gupton.

Nia’s last television appearance was in the Showtime original series “House of Lies,” alongside Don Cheadle and “Love Jones” co-star Larenz Tate.

Nia can also be seen starring in Tyler’s Perry upcoming “Single Moms Club,” due out in March of next year.

  1. Well, Brown Sistas have done wonders for the WeTV Network. I loved Nia with Don Cheadle in House of Games. I hope the series does well!

  2. I totally agree with you cynthinia. I love seeing black women in great roles that show their range. Black Girls Rock

  3. Nia Long should not have lifted from TV in the first place. This is great news for sure.
