First up of course is Nicki’s RollingStone cover which surfaced online yesterday. The low-key cover features hip-hop’s leading lady sporting an even lower cut t-shirt and a look that says “Hey, look at my… eyes.”
The inside editorial hasn’t been released yet, but I’m sure it’s all about the usual: her rather abundant assets, her always controversial lyrics, and of course Igloo Australia, whose one hit record and flop album have somehow been enough to have her deemed the competition.
Next up is Nicki’s Roberto Cavalli campaign, which is nothing short of stunning. Cavalli told WWD “I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman.”
Nicki will be fronting the designer’s spring campaign which will hit publications in January. I’m sure you guys have seen most of the images already, but I have still included them below. And just for reference purposes, Nicki’s shoot was inspired by 60’s model China Machado.
Lastly, Nicki’s “Pinkprint” album has exceeded expectations, moving 244,000 copies in its first week of release, quite a bit more than the 150-180k originally estimated. Unfortunately, Nicki will have to settle for the #2 spot as Taylor Swift’s “1989” continues to sell like hotcakes.
Congrats to Nicki. Let’s hope 2015 shines as brightly on her as 2014 did.
