Nicki Minaj Scores Her First Solo Top 10 Hit.
After nearly seven months of being in release, Nicki Minaj’s debut album “Pink Friday” has finally given the up and coming hip-hop diva what she has long been working towards: her own solo top 10 single.
“Super Bass,” the fifth single to be released from “Pink Friday,” jumps one spot from #11 to #10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and climbs from #8 to #6 on the Digital Songs chart. The track has also done extremely well at radio, increasing its airplay by over 38% and moving from #31 to #14 on the Radio Songs chart.
According to Billboard, the single sold another 143,000 copies last week, bringing its seven week total to just over 550,000.
Nicki had previously hit the top 10 with R & B crooner Trey Songz when she was featured on his hit single “Bottoms Up.”
