Up and coming female rapper Nicki Minaj continues to break or make obscure Billboard chart records. The 25 year old diva, who is expected to release her first debut album on November 23rd, made history earlier this year when she became the first female rapper to top the rap charts in almost eight years. Granted, that is not exactly an accomplishment. However, Nicki’s latest fete cannot be dismissed so easily.
According to Billboard Magazine, Minaj has become the first artist in history to have seven singles on the Hot 100 chart at once. All of the entries are cameos except for the rapper’s own “Your Love.” Combined Nicki’s singles, which include Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad”, Lil Wayne’s “Knockout”, Trey Songz’ “Bottoms Up”, Usher’s “Lil Freak”, Sean Kingston’s “Letting Go (Dutty Love)”, and Jay Sean’s “2012 (It Ain’t The End)” have accumulated almost 4.3 million in sales. This includes “Your Love” which accounts for nearly $775,000 in sales.
Chances are Nicki may someday break her own record as she is scheduled to be heard on upcoming songs from Rihanna, Busta Rhymes and Bruno Mars.
