Nicole Beharie to Host New Season of AfroPop

Nicole Beharie Joins AfroPop Lineup

Given the return of Sleepy Hollow and its abysmal showing in the ratings, I thought now would be the perfect time to talk about the show’s former leading lady, Nicole Beharie, and what she’s been up to since leaving the supernatural sinking ship behind.

As many of you already know, Nicole’s addition to the cast of the Jacob’s Ladder remake was announced shortly after Sleepy Hollow wrapped up its much-maligned season three finale, in which saw our beloved Lieutenant meet her demise.

What you might not know, is that Nicole is also slated to host the upcoming ninth season of the World Channel original series AfroPop: The Ultimate Cultural Exchange. The new season kicks off January 16th and will explore contemporary life and culture across the African diaspora.

And for those of you wondering just how poorly Sleepy Hollow fared in the ratings without Nicole, look no further than Nielsen who says the show pulled in a series low 2.21 million viewers, down from the 2.96 million that watched the season three finale.
